The current thread prompted me to track down this cd after many years; sadly, listening has subsequently served to remind me just exactly why I'd had it stuffed away all this time... :urff:  :|

I have to admit, I'm a big Foetus fan, and I was rather disappointed. I thought he just sort of phoned it in. Granted, it was better than the rest of the record.

Oh, I've also decided I LIKE the Darkside Cowboys version of FALAA simply because it's so goddam stupid--every time I hear the Sex Pistols riff thrown in there, it just kills me.

Extra lyrics?

At two and a half min. into the Foetus version, the girl sings:

Saw the world turn by the doorjamb, with the keyhole in my heart, yeah, and slowly, (?) smile, (?), (?).

What is she singing and where did they get those lines from?

thirwell has admitted that he put the FALAA lyrics over the top of a song he was already working on ;)

aphex twin did something similar with some curve and nin remixes a few years ago.

thirwell also claims that he'd never heard the original versionuntil he came to do the cover... although i doubt that :?

I dunno, I could see it. I always got the impression that he didn't really listen to much 'pop' music, except for maybe the people he worked with, instead listening to big band jazz and musique concrete. Who really knows, though? He's a weird guy.
