And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. That pic got me itno New Model Army!

I saw it on the web somewhere captioned "Andrew Eldritch playing bass for NMA" or something similar. I spent a good while trying to find "NMA" on the web using websites like allmusic etc. When I finally came up with what they stood for I looked into the band and was very pleased indeed.
Nationalise the f**king lot.

NMA is a great band, I've been a fan for a very long time now and seen them live dozens of times. The first couple of albums are really great (No rest for the wicked, The ghost of cain, Vengeance, Impurity etc.) Very strong music and lyrics. I saw them live last friday in Amsterdam: Brilliant!!!

You right, till and including Impurity liked all their stuff. Still go and see them occasionally in the Netherlands, few years ago in Hardenberg and Groningen. Still very good live.

My sympathies ...

I got a load of abuse from a bunch of idiots outside and before the Crystal Palace outdoor gig (was it 1992?) - they didn't like my ('Some Girls Wander') shirt apparently! I wasn't bothered as I can 'look after myself'. As a veteran 1970s soccer 'hooli', the Old Den was far more scary ...

Also, sort of related - m*****n fans were getting pretty verbal to Cure fans at Lorelei in ?1989 - pretty tame stuff, so I didn't bother even acknowledging it.

Horsham Scooter Boys - ??? Eek!, or should that be Ho Ho Ho? Would they be related in any way to the Mods from Crawley? In the early 1980s I was out for a spin on my Honda CBX when the latter lobbed a plank of wood at me (missed of course)! - I turned sharply around and scattered them - w*nkers!

All of this seems very strange as I always thought gigs were for having fun, not a fashion competition or an excuse for wanna-be alpha males to push each other around? I'm sure all of us have had far more grief from bouncers and other security types at one time or another???

Going back to your original point, I think I know where you're coming from, as it seems a small minority of 'Sisterhood' or whatever, think only folk from Leeds/Wakefield/Bradford or 'oop North' are somehow 'genuine' (?!) - Strange Indeed! - Where are they now? Do we care?!

Strangely, every Sisters gig I've been to (nec 92', b'ham academy 01 & wolvo, 03)
there's been a large (fat) bloke shouting 'Wan*er' at Eldritch for the first few songs,
until he gets 'escorted from the premises', the cries of 'Wan*er' echoing into the distance.
And no, it was'nt Hussey.

If i'm right, that'll be the bloke who tried to set up and promote a gig at the NEC, but :von: pulled the plug as the guy didn't keep to his part of the contract, leaving one very p***ed off businessman. There's a thread on here somewhere all about it ;D
