eastmidswhizzkid wrote:walk away 12" was definitely silver on black when first released (in uk at least). the only difference with later copies was that the first pressings came with a sticker about the free train flexi. i've never seen a red on black walk away.

all 7" and 12" singles 84-85 were unavailable in picture sleeves after the initial stock had run out, and came in the generic black ones shown above. i can only assume this was down to the change from independence to major-label funding and practices.
the '84-85 12" singles were still in print in '87-88 - with generic WEA dye cut sleeves, but with a grey-green design, the WEA logo and a boot or a leg on it, not the earlier black and white generic sleeves.

I've got Dominion in one of those too. Pretty horrible sleeves.

With ref to NTTC. I have the envelope sleeve, no picture, which I bought new from a record store in 1988, the quality of the recording is very poor.

I eventually paid double the new price for a copy with a picture sleeve, for some reason I was under the impression the picture sleeve was a European import. The quality of the recording is far superior.

Closer inspection of the two copies show some minor differences in the inner sticker on the vinyl and in the reference info in the run off groove.

My first post for ages and it couldn't be more geeky
