the '84-85 12" singles were still in print in '87-88 - with generic WEA dye cut sleeves, but with a grey-green design, the WEA logo and a boot or a leg on it, not the earlier black and white generic sleeves.eastmidswhizzkid wrote:walk away 12" was definitely silver on black when first released (in uk at least). the only difference with later copies was that the first pressings came with a sticker about the free train flexi. i've never seen a red on black walk away.
all 7" and 12" singles 84-85 were unavailable in picture sleeves after the initial stock had run out, and came in the generic black ones shown above. i can only assume this was down to the change from independence to major-label funding and practices.
