The Sisterhood - Gift reissue

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

To see the images from The Sisterhood section on discog click on one of the releases listed on the main page. You should then see a photo of the cover with the link "more images" bellow.
I belive only the album was only re-released by rough trade on CD (as stated on discog) so I thought we where talking about that only? :? too![/QUOTE]Thanks for the reply Mr. Mercy. But I don't see any pix or mention of an *alternate* version of the Giving Ground 7", just the standard one I've got at home. Can someone who has both copies post pictures of both along with something explaining the precise difference? My curiosity has been piqued. Thanks in advance.

We are talking about the Giving ground 7" single, or at least I am.

The links to the pix in the gallery are here:

The 'SIS010' is in a different font on the A-side label too - do people want that uploaded too?
Is this the place I used to know as Fatherland?

Ah, thanks deadagain. On that basis, I have the "usual" one. Will have to look out for the variant now.

bismarck, when you go on the discog site, click on the name of the release to get an information page about it. There will be a picture of the sleeve top left. Click that for more detailed pics of front and back sleeves and labels.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

wow, i never knew about this variant. 1st pressing, must be. i got the single on the day of release too, but in the US. I wonder if any of the 1st pressings made it here? i've since lost that copy and replaced it with the more common variant, so i have no way of knowing what font the center text was in on it. any americans on here have the GG7" they bought on the day of US release? i'm dead curious... to see if i lost a keeper.
