the world is great. pity 'the creator' is such a cnut
Aye. I can find the world beautiful for what I've kinda listed before and my very best friend could find it beautiful for complete opposite reasons, which does not imply -IMHO - that either my vision or his vision of the world is the right/ wrong one but it surely gives me a very interesting angle to relate to this person better. Still, I'm tempeted to say that the vision of the world says a lot but not all.moses wrote:Too true. It all depends on how we look at things, and not how they are in themselves. How we view the World says more about the viewer than the World itself.Hexe Luciferia wrote: It is true and well reknown though, that beauty is a very subjective matter and we could go on and on debating on this.
(Which is, actually, the pont of the whole post )
Well if you put it that way, then yes, I think the world, and let's not forget the universe it's suspended in, is very beautiful indeed. I just recognize a place for exploding stars and the end of countless worlds (including ours, one day) in that beauty. But of course there's more than enough place for golden eagles and late spring morning and all that sort of thing as well.moses wrote:@ Boudicca To say "the world, and nature in general, is neutral and indifferent", is fundamentally correct. So I suppose the question 'is the world a beautiful place' evokes answers that say more about the person than the World.
