OK. This is a test. I hope this link will take you all to a page where you can choose a site from which to download 'Vision Thing' from New York the other night.

Thanks to everyone who guided me on how to do this (unless it doesn't work). I'll put more songs up if this one works out, and if anyone cares to hear them. I have both encores from NYC and the New Haven show.

How's the guitar sound on this tour? Apparently Ben has been ordered to ditch the crappy Numetal beater and get a respectable Strat instead. Any improvements (not really discernible on Youtube videos)?

Great recording... plenty of headspace for EQ and such...
and I love the bit where :von: tells us to do the "do the right thing".

Many thanks! You just made my day. More please!

New Haven was a special night because of the election vibe and banter, but (as I told a somewhat befuddled Eggi_1), I thought the NYC gig was much, much better. It really helped to have a huge sold-out enthusiastic venue full of hyper dancing screaming New Yorkers. We do it better than anyone else in the country.

I know the band thought New York was, quote: "Amazing. The best gig so far this tour in terms of energy..."

For audio of Vision Thing from this date, check a few posts above. You can feel the energy of the night.

Thanks Doktor G. I'm prepping New Haven tonight. Sound wasn't so great as NYC (on my recording), but I'll upload it as soon as I can.

Where'd you hear that about Ben's guitar? Anyway, he sounds great. I like what he adds to the sound a lot. So we don't get a massively varied setlist... we get to hear brand new versions of the old songs. A lot of this is down to Ben's guitar style. I think it's cool. He adds a little Bon Jovi vibe.

Wow bismarck - that recording is incredible. :notworthy:

Very clear, sounds like the band is really in top form too. I think it really demonstrates the better sound people are talking about with this tour too. I can't thank you enough for providing some audio for the tour! I'd tape the show I'm going to but I've no equipment and I don't know the first thing about how I'd do it.

Well.. I've watched a couple of the new vids now and he seems to be playing a white strat in all of them...
He adds a little Bon Jovi vibe.
*swallows tongue*

A little Bon Jovi vibe is to the Sisters as Nailin' Palin was to the McCain campaign.... imho, of course.

But the Sisters sound great with a little Bon Jovi thrown in!

However... in some live tracks the guitar work reaches Floyd levels! ;D

EDIT ... and I do do not give a rat's arse about Bon Jovi. 8)

Thanks a lot for sharing the track!

It was a fun show. I'd never heard Never Land live before. My cell phone pics were too washed out to post here.

Thanks again, bismarck.

Oh, you're very welcome. I'm still really pissed off that I didn't operate the recorder correctly for the set, and only got the encores on tape (after I switched the tape for the encores, I realized my mistake).

It seems as though this is one show that will forever be a memory rather than a recording, as no one else recorded it (I think). A real shame, as it was a true stormer... just the band's energy feeding off the rowdy and sold-out crowd made it special, plus the versions of 'Still' and 'Alice' were absolute classics.

On a broader note, I'm worried that many of the US shows will go unrecorded. There seem to be fewer and fewer Heartländers -- or really dedicated fans -- this time around (which isn't surprising as the venues and audiences are shrinking in the absence of new recorded material, but is worrying nonetheless).

So, a plea:

For everyone on this forum going to a show in the US, please make the effort to record it. There are plenty of people on this forum who helped me with advice on how to do it... just ask!

Thanks Bismarck, great version. Much more straight forward (even better than in Tienen). Seems that they arranged their live vocals different.

Finally got a chance to listen to your recording bismarck, the whole thing anyways, today at work - fantastic. I'm certain I probably got some strange looks because I couldn't help myself - sitting here at my desk, big goofy smile across my face and toe tapping. Sounds like a great show, I'll have to check out the videos later on tonight at home. They sound better than they did two years ago, to me anyways.

One more week exactly! :D :D :D :D I'm more than ready!
