The Sisters Of Mercy @ Leeds Museum

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

hehe, a young'un told me recently that they like to be called 'Emos' these days, but I wouldn't know as we don't get much news in my Old Goths Home. I'm happy in my senility believing its still the winter of '88.

NO! WRONG!
Emo is not goth. It's s**t.

Worrying how few goths I grew up around, they turned into emos. Who, yes, do look quite tasty, but have no musical taste whatsoever.

In conclusion: emo != young goth

Goth and Emo are further apart than Pluto from the sun :!:

Whilst there aren't many young Goths around we are still here! :D

Surely you mean:

Goth and Emo are further apart from true wisdom than Pluto from the sun :!:

Are there really any young 'goths' at all these days?

The only alternatives seem to be either emos or metal-goths, both of which are totally 'off-the-peg' (ie there's no thought or effort in it any more, you can go buy 'the look' in one shop in less than 10 minutes), and IMHO is rather corporate and hence utterly crap, *sigh*, unlike back in the '80s of course

(yeah, okay... I admit it, I'm just jealous of 'em and their bright long futures *pah*)
