Yes, I'm going if everything works out and nothing "spectacular" happens in the region.
Thank you for the wishing well :)

The political discourse has been split off to here. Feel free to add more civil comments on the political scene to that thread.

This date has never been listed at the official site, as far as I can tell.

The general consensus is that if they're going to pull off gigs in both Tel Aviv and Beirut, one of them will have to fly low and avoid the (political) radar...

I can just imagine the stage banter in Beirut:

"You've been a lovely audience, so much better than Tel Aviv!"

Doh!

Some new info about the gig:

http://www.israstage.com/event/Sisters- ... anguage=en

The venue seems to be about 300 meters from the beach and doors open 21.00. Tickets not on sale yet as it seems.

Tickets on sale!

http://www.hadran.co.il/auto_choose_ga.asp?area=169

So, now we can wait for the_inescapable_truth or someone else for a guide how to order them without knowing Hebrew

Otherwise I have to surrender to Google Translate, which is not ideal when you use your card to give away a whopping 40 euro per ticket! Will be interesting to see how much the Beirut tickets cost...

I generally have a feeling that they don't send the tickets, but that you pick them up in Tel Aviv.

Tickets can now be ordered in English:

Even if i seem to be the only one reading this thread, maybe somebody else might want to see the one and only (probably ever) Sisters poster in Hebrew:

Okay, I've been pondering more seriously about going to this and I just noticed that the venue is on Sderot Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Boulevard). :D And yeah the beach is nearby. Hmm.

I'm going to try and get hold of one of those posters. :)

I am deeply sorry if there are any mistakes in the writting but i am not fluent linguist :urff: :innocent:

Finally...
Almost sold out (~1000 tickets), and don't worry, no chairs will be in the venue. I'm gonna take some photos tomorrow, hope to post them her + the setlist.
The band was very popular in Israel in the 80's, that's why the poster is so 80's like.that's the first time (maybe the last one?) they're coming, some people here are very excited :-)

Great news that the gig is nearly sold out. I'm in a pub in Tel Aviv supping a very nice local beer. The Sisters are on stage at 10pm according to CC. I'll report back later. Really looking forward to this one!

I'm full of envy, Scardwel, despite being "full" of the Sisters - doing both Beirut and Tel Aviv...did you go via Cyprus and did you have any trouble with the Israeli immigration due to the recent Lebanon visit?

Yep via Cyprus. On arrival I got to passport control whereupon my passport was seized & scrutinised and they told me I would have to go to the naughty room for a "security check". Oh s**t I thought... But I need not have worried. After a few minutes they came back with my passport and asked if I would like a stamp in it. I politely declined and I was free to go (with the stamp on a seperate piece of paper. Sorted.

no, your english is fine -i just don't think i could ever have seen them enough. :( (not that i'm complaining, i just wish i'd not missed them so often...the 7 years between 93 and 2000 when i was totally unaware of their continued existence particularly sticks in my throat.)

None taken, but the Arabic translates as 'Nuns of Mercy', how about Al-Ekhewaat (The Sisters) Al-Rahma? Nice work.

Have a good one.

Cheers,

Al
