The first thing to notice is it was way too silent. At the beginning of the C&B I thought WTF?! and remembered how strong it felt in 2006 the next songs just assured me that the volume was was definetly too low. It happend half the gig that people were coming to the desk and complaining to make it louder. The lack of strength was especially noticable with Von's vocals and the guitars in the second place.
It happend even that throught some part of Marian people were shouting 'Glośniej' (Louder in polish). It got better with following songs and was decent with Dominion (or it was just the feel when all the people were singing).
Overall the sound was wrong (you could have a conversation standing in the crowd without much need of shouting straight to someone's ear). The setlist was more or less what we now got used to. Good thing we had Giving Ground, sad one is that the Summer was missing.

Ah what crap, I just spent 15 minutes typing and got a connection error.
So again:
What bad luck tonight's gig was!
We had everything: wet floor, sound problems, almost inaudible vocals and guitars, rude drunk audience ('louder', 'andru I can't hear you, start singing', "I want my money back'), lack of interaction (as result I think), AND - the worst of all:
security taking away drinks but allowing cameras.
All in all, I felt sorry for the band.
This bitch next to me shouted 'andruuu, wooooo' after she'd taken about 50 FLASHLIGHT photos of him and bragged about how she'd put them on f**king myspace.
After the gig she behaved like an idiot and begged the moustache ponytail chap (don't know the name, sorry) for the setlist, to which he waved it in front of her face but never gave it to her, which I sincerely hope was intentional.
Me, I got what I wanted from the ponytail soundcheck lady, so I'm very very glad.
So yes, my friends who came to see this only show said it was crap, well - they were just unlucky.
I have to go to sleep now, because I myself have a headache since morning (faaaaar too many drinks after the EXCELLENT Warsaw gig
), and my train for Prague leaves very early tomorrow.

As no doubt it was, since he's the same one who happily gave me Von's setlist from Seattle. She got what she deserved (i.e. nada).

Awesome Setlist, in fact the sisters since Russia , had come back with a brand new inspiration, Von is Talkin' now, and finally Giving Ground + Falaa + Anaconda , all together in the setlist.

ekhm.... this gig was wrong !!
before the show i planned this gig as my last sisters gig ever - i don't feel much fun when i know a month(s) before gig what songs i'll hear and in what order. i know a few other ways to spend a money.
so the "gig":
level of sound was much to low. imo everything were shifted on right level - well maybe as my friend said vocal could be a bit higher - music overall was so low that i heard myself even when i didn't shout furthermore i could talked to her- a friend- without saying anything louder. so now i got question for what are TWO soundmans - girl on stage and a man on floor level- if after shout (in Polish, what was stupid, and English, what was completely ignored) they didn't change anything ? yes after a few commands passed by Von during first songs sound were better ( Andrews vocal, Bens guitar) but still was to low.
btw. @
_emma_ : people were shouting because they didn't heard a music. at least they paid - not so small price - to see/listen the band not just for a light and fog show with a little of sound on the background. but that chick was stupid
.
what else , it was another show were Ben, Chris, Nurse and audience (that part what were able to heard the music) had fun. Von looks like he didn't care about that. it was something like: "ok, because you were good puppies and first gig were sold out so smell the money i'll go onstage but don't think it's gonna be something that you can remebre for the rest of your life. just give my the money. buck dich and relax so none gonna hurt". and i do fell like i was f**ked pretty hard.
i was a waist of time, energy and money.
kudos goes to:
boys (Nurse!!, Ben and Chris!!!) and audience.

Lachert and for your beautiful wife

Thanks for the pictures. Strange that on the picture of the setlist there is Summer present. Am I right with the fact they indeed didn't played it?

ok, then 'i was wrong.
i have a rough idea for people of preparing 'we can't hear you' banner for the next gig, just in case instead of pointlessly shouting 'glosniej'

ok, judgment (point) was a little bit hushed. but still i do feel hunger and fell i like i been cheated. my best measurement to judge a gig i kind of adrenaline/enthusiasm was is after the gig. if i stay with my at least 30 min that mean the gig was good ( longer - better). and after this gig this adrenaline/enthusiasm stayed with my maybe 5 min. i'll don't bother myself for another 2 days trip (if that situation repeat anytime). i don't think that i'll go for another Sisters gig but we got a proverb: only cows doesn't change up her mind.
p.s. few more pics on my flickr site (Nurse!)

Here you are:
"Communique
Further to many enquiries relating to Sisters of Mercy concert, which took place on 31 March 2009, we would like to point out that the STUDIO Club did not organize this event.
The organizer of the concert was Fabryka Productions.
We would like to point out that the responsilbilty for the sound reinforcement rests with the group' soundman. In spite of the requests from the gig organizer, the club and the audience, he did not make the slightest attempt to improve the sound level during the concert, claiming that he had been doing sound this way for 27 years."

Thanks so much! I had the first bits figured out, but that last sentence just wasn't parsing out intelligibly...

Explains a lot, now doesn't it? It certainly reinforces my suspicions about the source of the problems...
And by the way, welcome to our little party,
