Look, honey. The fact that I spend my hard earned money on going to Sisters gigs is partly about their music, but mostly about my wet dreams. Consequently, since 2003, 99% of what I've posted here is about my wet dreams. I'm afraid that your sudden appearance (and, I suppose, equally sudden disappearance) in 2009 cannot make a difference to it.

You're probably correct. It definitely sounds like a -'k' in the Dresden version, but not in the Berlin YouTube one.
Arms, v.4.0
Live your life in a parallax
Live a life through the lens
Live your life in the read room
For the Mercedes-Benz
All signs say stay away
Throw a key and call her some day
Come feel the arms around you
I'm gonna be the arms around
I'm gonna be the arms around you
Over the wisdom, feel is real, come feel
Full weaned underclasses
For your love under law
Everybody got locked and loaded
With a hand on the drawer
Those signs say stay away
Throw a key and call her some day
Come feel the arms around you
I'm gonna be the arms around
I'm gonna be the arms around you
Over the wisdom, feel is real, come feel

Also, he seems to close the Dresden version with the single utterance "blog". Could also be "blargh", which means roughly the same thing.

Maybe...
All signs say stay away
All senses sail away
Full weaned underclasses
Throw away the underclasses
Throw the key and call her some day
Throw a key and call it some day

Yes. Never liked that "weened" stuff. Changed the next line as well (there's an awful lot of throwing going on).
Methedrome is probably right on the sign stuff, though. "call it" sounds roughly ok the first time around, but not the second, and doesn't particularly make any sense.

..the Mercedes Benz bit is good.
All versions make
some sense.
Common to all I see the song has an inside and an outside through the two meanings of the word "arms", giving it a sheltered inside and an outside that's threatened.
Nice how the accoustic theme from Flood II got turned into a cheerfull, almost triumphant appeal.
A very very nice song indeed. I already love it.

Agree,
eotunun - now all we have to figure out is how to turn back the time a decade and bang this out as an independent single
I believe this one would do a good job in the charts...
Lots of throwing here, yes...throw "a" key sounds strange, maybe "the" instead. But well, there are hopefully lots of versions coming up the weeks ahead!
I love this song, even the background vocals in the chorus are good!

Some day could also be "Sunday", or to complicate things further, I am almost hearing "asunder".

Definitely sounds like "a key" both times, both versions.
Two interesting tidbits on the matter:
1. Legend has it that lovers visiting the city of Florence can seal their love forever by affixing a lock to the Ponte Vecchio and throwing its key into the Arno River below.
2. "Den Schlüssel in (den Fluss) werfen" stammt aus einer Redensart 'mit etwas nichts mehr zu tun haben wollen'.

Berlin, yes. Dresden, no.
Business as usual.

I hear offer.
Also why not "live your life in the green room"?
At least it makes sense with the theme.

agree it sounds more like a "range rover" and "or" not "for".

Range Rover fits perfectly, as does "man on the door". As for the "offer/over" bit, the Dresden one has a distinctly long 'o' at the beginning. I've listened to this a bit too much today, I think. My mind is going... I can feel it.

Pretty close with everything. Agree with the Range Rover.
Still not sure of the "call her some day" line, though.

I'm optimistic about this one, think it may be sorted this week if more clear recordings appear.
Thanks for giving all brainstorming a bit of structure, mugabe!
