The future of Heartland

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

will leave yours until i'm ready to move HL too.

i've already moved one wordpress-based site as a test ( http://www.sincitymanchester.co.uk/ ) and it went very smoothly so it should be ok when it comes to relocating yours, but we will need to chat about updating nameservers and dns settings when it comes to it... it will be a couple of weeks yet though :)

FYI:

I shall be moving Heartland over to the new servers this coming monday - 21st September

This should mean the site will be down for a day or so, from Monday evening (GMT)

When it comes back up you shouldn't notice any changes - we will still be running the same version of the forum software - I'll upgrade that a week or two later as it's a big job in itself :urff:

However, there may well be teething troubles so I'll create a thread in the Feedback area specifically for bug reports :)

Thanks in advance for all your patience :D

just to make sure you all noticed this, because i know some of you only lurk around in this section:

http://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=19370

at 8pm this evening (in approx 2.5 hrs) heartland will be taken off-line for essential maintenance

it will be brought back on-line a couple of hours later, but some users will still be able to view the forum for up to 24 hours.

do not worry if you cannot view the forum tomorrow: it's not the forum, it's you.

or rather, it's most likely because of your internet service provider (ISP).

jsut sit tight and wait. it will return.

and by this time tomorrow it should be back for everyone, regardless of how rubbish your ISP is ;)

I have a passion, sweet Lord
And it just won't go away
I have it each and every day Lord
Sure as the sun comes up each day

Come on take me for a ride
Take me to the other side
Come on and take me for a ride

Come on baby take my hand
And we'll walk across the sand
We'll go to places we ain't been
See all the things that we ain't seen

Come on take me for a ride
Take me to the other side
Come on take me for a ride
Come on and take me for a ride
Come on take me for a ride

I have a passion, sweet Lord
And it just won't go away
I have it each and every day Lord
Sure as the sun comes up each day

Come on take me for a ride
Take me to the other side
Come on and take me for a ride
Come on take me for a ride
Come on take me for a ride
Take me to the other side
Come on, come on, come on now babe
Take me to the other side
Come on and take me for a ride
Come on take me for a ride
We forgive as we forget
As the day is long.

And 3-2-1 you're back in the room.

TBH I think there are issues with the DNS servers we use at work...
