Let's get all those rarities uploaded at super-high bitrates :)
and where, pray tell, can one obtain such a miraculous piece of software?
I linked it in my post, scroll up and pay closer attention!

EDIT: Pah! I say "scroll up" and the damn thing puts the message on a 2nd page.

Dan wrote:I already mentioned this in the yahoo group months ago, but there's a program called HJsplit which allows you to split a file info several smaller parts, and then after downloading the same program is used to recombine the files.
Using that method people have uploaded huge mpegs to yahoo briefcases.
...couple of months? Not the longest period of time useful infromation has had to wait to gain access through my cranium

I've downloaded it and had a little play and it seems fairly straight forward, even to me! :?

There are some files in the groups which definitely need redoing so I might have a go at them. Though it's also quite tempting just to redo the whole lot at higher bitrates. Mind you...

Program starts at 10pm, Sisters should be on early-ish. 4 bands on (Sisters are on 2nd), and it ends at 12 midnight.

It's definitely a session - but I don't know which one yet :)

It's the Peel Session 84.

I hope somebody is recording it, cause I don't want just a mp3-recording of it...

I've burnt the whole thing straight onto CDR from the digibox. I'm going to mp3 it to various places but if someone wants wants a version straight from the disc just get in touch...

Suspect most using digital satellite fed into Dolby 5.1 decoder / nicam video fed into PC capturing as WAV unless fortunate enough to have DAB receiver.

I didn't take it from the stream at all, I guessed the quality of that wouldn't be that hot. I get digital stations on TV through the digibox so I linked a audio CD recorder up to that and took it straight onto CDR from that. By the way if someone wants a copy on CDR just PM me with your details and I'll sort you out. If I end up geing loads of requests we might have to get some sort of tree thing started...

Digital radio isn't more than 128kbps (often 64 or 96kbps), an mp3 will be quite sufficient.

I captured the stream with streambox vcr at 44kbps and it doesnt sound too bad.
