I was watching this thread with interest as the smart phones had finally tempted me into not being a tight-arse and to get a contract. That and the fact that I was spending more on pay as you go than most of the contracts cost.
After lots of advice (and wanting to stay on t-mobile) I decided to get the htc desire. It has android which everyone told me was me was much better re apps. It only arrived yesterday so going to start playing now.
Pointless post but thought I'd share anyway.

Also not decided about HTC and iphone. Two questions:
1)HTC apps are they as numerous/good/comprehensive as apple?
2)(stupid question) Can I play my normal mp3's on my iphone or only what I buy from itunes?
