David Allen talk in London

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Thanks Rob.

Surprised he didn't talk about Disintegration at all.
Cheers.

Marian, perhaps, with the really, really deep vocal- a low E?

Could mean anything; that's the music dork in me talking.

Further excellent progress in the field of pre-split Sisters archaeology.

Perhaps we should propose a paper?

Something else I just remembered that might be of use to those who write the Wiki articles.

It was Dave who programmed the Oberheim for the album :)

Also, he said that Eldritch wanted the album to sound like a Fleetwood Mac record :P

Seem to remember Wayne mentioning that being one of the reasons for the split, in an early m*****n interview. Something along the lines of "When we were working on songs for the 2nd Sisters album 'Von was listening to Stevie Nicks & Foreigner & we were listening to Motorhead"
Give me one good reason

Wayne also mentioned The Blow Monkeys when he was guest singles reviewer for Smash Hits. He reviewed a Blow Monkeys single and said that Eldritch's fondness for that band was one of the reasons they parted company. I suspect it was all tongue-in-cheek though.
