Goes for me too.

And I refuse to admit it's sad

I couldn't even imagine the scenario; the Sisters were very much responsible for my getting interested in a hefty chunk of the other stuff I like so it's really really difficult to say. I'd guess maybe Spiritualized as I had also become aware of Spacemen 3 at around the same time and with no Sisters connection. I've also got a huge fondness for New Order who - at their best - easily wipe the floor with anything JD ever did. But without the Sisters there would have been no obsessive collecting of everything a band ever released, no exposure to the joys of crap quality bootleg cassettes, and so on, so it wouldn't have been the same.

The Sisters always seemed more IMPORTANT that others. There were and are other great bands, but that's what the were, just bands. The Sisters seemed like a philosophy. Not exactly sure of what, but something damned important anyhow. Hell I model my magazine (admittedly in a way no-one would notice) on them. Sadly with the same inevitable warfare and fallout. But the Sisters and the Abridged are still here, still losing and finding ourselves in the lights and smoke. ;D

The Sisters opened my eyes really wide.
I was already onto Mad Bob & co, but The Sisters really got a hold of me & never let go.
As for another forum, predictable or not, it's in my signature.

Yeah, it's all about Sisters, which in its turn is all about Andrew, who is a very, very special character, lazy or not. Oddly independent with an extremely high integrity in a time of sell-out commersialism.

We love him or we love to hate him, but few people are indifferent to him.

And he knows what a good tune sounds like

Other bands...I think I'd move in a completely new direction...I liked Balkan Beats or much "world music" I've heard. Maybe classical, maybe jazz.

Well, of course I must agree with the numerous Sisters comments because as I was on my way to work this morn i was listening to FALAA and it struck me again, for the millionth time of how f**kin great they really are. Also, what yanked me into the Sisters was how unique they were and still are in regards to their sound and style. But I agree that it is unimaginable to think of no Sisters, otherwise it would be all metal which can get tiresome, or some other goff band without the essence of the Sisters influence, despite other notables like Bauhaus or Cure. Early Red Lorry Yellow Lorry may have filled that pothole, but then again maybe not....
