If you'd put Springsteen & Eldritch on stage together, who would have the bigger ego?
Ha ha, oh Eldritch wins that one without breaking a sweat! Seriously, the guy is 20 years past his prime but he still moves between various secret addresses for fear of stalkers. I love the guy, but his self-image is absurd!Aazhyd wrote:If you'd put Springsteen & Eldritch on stage together, who would have the bigger ego?

Mmm yeah ok one day maybe Hough Lane buying fags then maybe Leeds & Bradford Rd getting the Evening Post a bit later LOL! Grow up!TheGoodSon wrote:Ha ha, oh Eldritch wins that one without breaking a sweat! But the thing is, it's a computer. Filling that thing with 40 songs should be no problem whatsoever. It's not like Von doesn't have the time....Swinnow wrote:OMG someone who knows praise beHom_Corleone wrote:I think in his defence, the logistics of the drum programming and the Mac setup somewhat hinders that spontenaity.
While I am very, very sympathetic to the point you are making, I must ask: have you ever programmed drums for a band? I have. Honestly, it is probably more time-consuming than those who have not done it realize.TheGoodSon wrote:But the thing is, it's a computer. Well, yeah...you have a point. I have in fact done some stuff like that, and it did seem to take forever.sultan2075 wrote:While I am very, very sympathetic to the point you are making, I must ask: have you ever programmed drums for a band? Yeah but once they're done they're saved and you can just reuse them any time. It's not as if he needs to spend time programming new drum patterns.sultan2075 wrote:While I am very, very sympathetic to the point you are making, I must ask: have you ever programmed drums for a band? Seconded.TheGoodSon wrote: BUT I will say that Lisa joining the band on stage like that - and yes, that includes her rendition of This Corrosion - was THE most refreshing thing to happen with The Sisters Live Thing for decades. I applaud Von for that one.
Surely you're not suggesting he's lazy, right?stufarq wrote:Yeah but once they're done they're saved and you can just reuse them any time. Well someone slept with all the girls in Leeds 13.Planet Dave wrote:As for Hough End, well you're gonna keep quiet about being that close to Bramley, arn't yer.
Maybe so...LouLou wrote:to be fair on eldo&co, it's not like they have enough original material to play two (almost) completely different sets even if they desperately wanted to.
wonder why that might be

Aye and he's welcome to them. Besides which, surely Leeds 4 is where it's at.Swinnow wrote:Well someone slept with all the girls in Leeds 13.Planet Dave wrote:As for Hough End, well you're gonna keep quiet about being that close to Bramley, arn't yer.
Oh interesting! I'd forgotten about that lot! I always assumed that Leeds 13 (in this context) referred to the LS13 postcode area.Being645 wrote: Leeds 13
I have loads of respect for what he did twenty-odd years ago. Not so much for what he's doing now.splintered thing wrote:At the risk of sounding alarmingly middle aged, can we just be a little bit more respectful of the fellow who's given us so many good things.
NB : it's not Springsteen I meant there, I have no opinion on that front.
Eh, it's fine. I'd like a new record, but I've resigned myself to never getting one. What he's doing now (working for a living) seems perfectly respectable to me. It's not like he's on some deranged reality TV show or something. Again, it's not what I'd prefer. There's something to be said for going it alone, independent, DIY, etc. Of course, there are lots of other bands that have done it and managed to release great records.stufarq wrote:I have loads of respect for what he did twenty-odd years ago. Yeah, I guess many people here have made themselves used to the latter ... ...markfiend wrote:Oh interesting! I'd forgotten about that lot! I always assumed that Leeds 13 (in this context) referred to the LS13 postcode area.Being645 wrote: Leeds 13
