This was the hardest decision so far, like being asked to choose which one of your kids you love the most, as in the first few incarnations the covers were better than their own songs in the live shows. In the end though I went for Comfortably Numb as it was a fantastic show-opener combined with SKOS.

Emma?
Knocking On Heavens Door?
Ooh, wait, Comfortably Numb. Even better than the Scissor Sisters version...

Gift That Shines. I really like Bei Mir Bistu Shein and the huge early numbers as well.

Gimme Shelter - far superior to the original. IMHO.

Christ, it
really is. I honestly don't know what song it is that made me say "holy hell, what a
band" for the first time ever, but this is one of their finest moments. It still gives me shivers: at ear-bleed volume when you can feel the bass in your chest and the loss of your hearing, it is simply majestic.

Ooh, tricky. Teachers and Gimme Shelter were both entirely sick, but I'm going to go with Gift that Shines for maybe the wrong reasons.

Is there any cover by the Sisters which is not better than the original (Eric Idle excepted, naturally) ?

Totally!
Not only it's by far their best cover song, but in my opinion it's also one of their best songs ever.
Was a pretty obvious choice for me

Agree.
Can you imagine, this is released on a single with Temple of Love - the effect on myself, the teenager, at the time? Crikey.

Yes. Knocking on Heaven's Door is pretty good too.
I had to vote for Gimme Shelter though.
