I would agree with the not standing still, or harking back argument if the artist was still creating and releasing new (or even some) material in a recognised way evolving over time with a back catalogue that does not stop in92. Bandcamp releases for example, or proper live sessions.

But surely he is not or has not done?

All there is to find are bootlegs for the last decades are they not?

So if its a case of occasional touring then why not adopt a persona?

And as the only member of the band to actually move during performance, Chris should have one of those Australian hats with corks hanging from it. that made me laugh out loud. On the recent tour, all three of them were pretty active to be fair. And on the hat front, I was pleased to count a record low of just the one amongst the crowd at the Glasgow gig, although to be fair a combination of FOTN and Whitby has probably encouraged the dressing-up crowd to spend their pennies elsewhere this month.

No offence intended. The one I saw looked like a kid's cowboy hat and was worn by someone about six rows back on the left hand side (aka Ben's side, or Marx's side in old money).

I'm not gonna give some smart arse in depth analysis of the Leeds and Manchester gigs.

Here's my review:-

They were ace & I loved every minute of both experiences. I laughed too hard, I drank too much, I sang too loud & I smiled until my face ached.

I met old friends and new and I had a blast. In my opinion, that's what it's all about. If you go with a s**t attitude, it will be s**t. I thought Andrew was brilliant and it was great to see him happy and enjoying himself. He entertained.

I thought the boys were great and was so pleased to see 'a band' and not Andrew and 2 'hired hands' as some people had described them. They care about each other and show loyalty and that makes me happy.

I enjoyed the set list and would've only swapped a few songs purely for nostalgia.

I met some great people from this forum - you know who you are

I've got to agree with SmileySister and a few other people who commented on the atmosphere at Manchester. It was undoubtably friendly, and accessible. I didn't see any idiots, trouble etc.

I first got to see the Sisters as a youth from Wakefield in the early 80's and to add perspective, I also have known Chris Catalyst since he was a kid himself supporting my old band almost 20 years ago. I had no problem blending the two eras. They played well, performed well. My wife and I had a great time.

Great to hear all these positive reviews (backed up by the YT clips). @poisonheart, which gigs were you at in the early days ? I well remember the Wakey crew at many of the gigs in 83 with their "God Squad" chants and human pyramid building adding massively to the atmosphere. Don't think my back would be up to it these days, mind.

I agree with this 100%.

Especially the attitude bit.

I had a great time at all the gigs.

Wow, Brannigańs. Was that with Altered Images ?

I don't think so. I don't ever recall seeing Altered Images.

I do remember there weren't many folk there and my friend and I got thrown out for being under 18 then I got headbutted by a skinhead at the train station.

I'm going to say yes to that one for a few reasons even though I couldn't tell you who the other band were.
The timing seems about right (Oct/Nov) and on the link you sent it says small crowd which is why we got spotted for being underage. I would also agree with the statement about it being nothing to do with John Keenan as I got to know John in later life and I'm sure we would have discussed it.

Impressive, not many old fans from 81 still around here (which is why I'm pestering you for details!). Yes, you pretty much summed it up. Myself and my mates were into the Sisters early on. We latched on to people like Reggie (who worked in Record Exchange in Wakey Market) who were a couple of years older than us and seemed to know the band quite well. Fun times as we usually went to see The Exploited, GBH, Crass etc so this was very different. I'd also swear I saw the band in Wakefield, but can't be 100% on that, but if we did I would say The Strafford Arms? A lot of the Wakey lot seemed to "fall out" with the Sisters after Wayne joined, and to be honest my interest dwindled about that time too. Whether it was influenced by my mates doing the same? Who knows? Good days though.

Very interesting. I too found the 84/85 less fun when the band were in the more pompous and bombastic phase, and you had the hassle of having to buy tickets in advance etc. Were you one of the guys who had the red on black TSOM t-shirts? I was well jealous of those back in the day. Have heard other rumours of a Wakey gig back in early 82 so you might be right. But then again, it's probably just my faulty memory letting me down again.

I'd love to sound cool and say "yes" to the red on black shirt question, but, I am now honestly not sure whether it's true or just because you put the idea in my old head.
