Unfortunately our only hope of hearing any unreleased recorded music seems to rely on either Andrew following through with his 'if Trump gets elected I'll release a new album' statement... or more likely, with his meth-soaked liver being close to 60, he'll probably kick the bucket and someone possibly cobbles together leftover scraps for us to forage on.

Whatever the case, the legendary procrastinator obviously didn't like the pressure of delivering punctually hence the major label-phobia and numerous walkouts by frustrated band members over the years. Too bad he wasn't willing to be a slave to the system. I'm sure another 4 or 5 albums since Vision Thing would have yielded some choice cuts.

What I don't get is that he can't be satisfied leaving the new, unrecorded material to be immortalized in the imperfect format of shoddy bootlegs from live gigs over the years.

Been waiting for he next one to arrive long enough, I'm close to not giving a flying f* anymore

What a waste of talent

Hard to say if it's a waste of talent, because last proof for that is song that has (c) from 1997 ("War on drugs"). Some like it, other don't.
Definietly he had talent - he wrote few great songs, published 26 and more years ago.
We have no knowledge whether he's still capable to deliver songs (music) of comperable quality.

That's where I am at now...I just don't give a toss anymore and just cherish the old stuff..

I've come so close to just covering all the new songs myself, repeatedly. I don't even have to bother asking if anyone else is using the drum room. I sound too... Well, American, and too trained to really pull the voice off though. All the guitars/bass/synth/drum machine? Done well, with real grown-up gear? That, I can do. I'd probably do the vocals anyhow and just release the thing anonymously, even though I know it's technically a copyright violation no one would ever enforce.
