Vile. You don't want to know.
It's an offence before god, and perpetrators will be cast into the outer darkness. How the F do you order that, anyway? "Yes, I'll have a Guinness and black, please"? Bartender's got to be looking at you like, "Flippin' goths - why can't they drink snakebite n'black like they used to? Kids these days - 'tcho."

Sigh. Non-believers! Anyway twas Snakebite and Thunderbird (Do they still sell that?) back in the day. I know I'm a traitor to my people but blackcurrant is the only thing that makes Guinness drinkable...And it looks pretty!

I wonder what purple Guinness would be like in Guinness bread. I guess there's only one way to find out. Might give this a go for the hell of it.

Snakebite and black with the addition of a shot of Pernod to turn it into a Red Witch. God that stuff was disgusting.

Or was it Cider and Pernod and Black that was a Red Witch?

So where are we meeting for purple Guinness before hand?

The Philli isn't too far away. And there are a few students type bars for you cool kids.

No idea! I assume a boozer near the venue, the Philly was mentioned but I don't know it.

Will be wandering about. Think you have me number. Give me a shout if you're heading for a pint beforehand. :)

The band were cooking tonight! Excellent Temple of Love. Eldritch sounding like a Nighthawks at the Diner era Tom Waits.

Quick review to say AMAZING performance! Truly hit all the elements - sound, working the crowd, technically fantastic.

No surprises in set list.

And my god is it cold. I can still hardly type. I finally decided to give up my front row space to go into the mosh pit where it was finally warm. (I'd like to invite everyone in the mosh pit back to my hotel as the room is also sub-zero..)

(On another and barely related note - one of the political organizations I work with reported real progress but also a need for help, urgently. If you are a voter from Pennsylvania, message me if you can help with the recount. Time is tight!)

That was an absolutely cracking gig. One of the best I've seen, other shows have been memorable for a new song first time, or an old song first time, or a cover first time. While this had none of those, it was just a fantastic performance where everything came together and they pulled out all the stops.

Favourite part: Ravey Davey really getting into it behind the Doktor.
