What a fantastic way to end the tour! It is a bit of a blur to me for all the best reasons... many thanks to all the kind people who kept bringing me gin.

Chris did a very enjoyable set which included sticks and stones. That song is on his Facebook page. I liked it there and it was even better live. The membranes put on an energetic set. Hell, even the music in between the sets had us in the pit dancing! It was that kind of a crowd.

From the friendly (pub regulars) locals who were welcoming and kind hours prior to the gig, (taught me to say "sound as a pound" in response to the question, "y'allright?") to the fans who had been following the sisters for three decades, the Energy was electric.

Everyone who wanted in got in and you could move about and go where you wanted to be. Someone even took care of my jacket for me while Simon boosted me up for the This Corrosion finale. It felt like the set was over in a matter of seconds, but that was probably the effect of far too much gin.

Chris and Dave came out afterwards (and maybe others) and Simon and a few others kindly made sure I got back safely. Eva won a cake and shared and the atmosphere was warm and celebratory.

I managed to see every gig this tour and this one was as much about the crowd as about the band. A real stand-out, though I'll have to defer to others for technical critique or sober impressions. I saw Giving Ground on the set list but I honestly don't recall it being played.

I couldn't be more glad that I came to see this tour or that I was lucky enough to be in Leeds for Near Meth Experience. Made so many new friends and had a brilliant time. Thank you to all!
Sarah

Chris been on did an acoustic cover of 'Take on me' with crowd singalong! Membranes on now, really good never seen them before :D
That's right!! With the extended anticipation of "in a day or.........................

........
TWO!"

Thank you for triggering that memory. :)

So sorry to hear of Lee's misfortune.

From where me and Tim were stood (right next to stage right), we could hardly hear the vocals, though those further back said it was pretty clear.

Anyway, I though that Von took his time to get into the gig, More and Ribbons seemed a bit flat and lifeless, but livened-up when Dr Jeep kicked in.

Dunno what the hell happened to Chris' electro-acoustic during Flood II, but fair play to drop back onto the traditional. By the amount of dicking-about with the guitars beforehand I'd have thought they should be 110% (strum-check-put in rack, repeat...).

Contrary to what you may think from reading the above, it was a great night! :D

Yeah, Von's vocals were very quiet. But a great time was had.

Does anyone know if they made their goal?

Fantastic gig -- well worth feeling a bit hellish today!

Sounds like they may have made it or been very close according to Facebook updates. It's usually an ongoing process, IMO as a benefits advocate many years ago. Wish there was more we could do!

And on another note, agreed about the membranes. I'm still singing their songs to myself today and I dig the space theme/universal vibration idea.

I was a bit disappointed to see and hear quite a bit of negativity about the Brudenell. It's a cracking venue, much better (in my opinion) than the soulless corporate-sponsored warehouses most gigs are put on in these days. Nath and the guys really support the Leeds live music scene in a way unlike any other venue.

And their PA system is state-of-the-art. Any sound problems were not the fault of the venue.

From randoms on Farcebook mostly. Whining about the sound especially.

People whine about the sound after every Sisters gig. I even saw people complain about Liverpool, where there most definitely was not sound problems, from neither venue nor band. It kinda goes with the territory, really. Although I sometimes do wonder if a significant percentage of complainers were not actually at the gig, but are instead basing their judgement on YouTube clips.

It's mostly just people whining for the sake of it. I thought the Brudenell had the best sound of the lot I saw.

What I loved about the Brudenell was that :von: was able to sing quitely and still be heard.
Great gig - the tour was just what I needed after the brutal US elections.

I had a blast from start to finish. Great gigs and great company. It's all about the attitude.

Loved catching up with old friends and meeting new ones and I'll never tire of The Sisters :)
