Incredible detailed account of TSOM 1983 in The Quietus

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

A few comments if I may.

That's probably the best, most accurate piece relating to that particular Sisters era that I've ever read.

Easy to over dramatise, but it looked a bit dodgy for a while after that Peterborough gig; there were a few of us down from West Yorks and it looked at one point like those local c**t were thinking about having a go.

I think Gary M was only thus named to avoid the attention of the DHSS (as they then were)... A bit difficult claiming you were doing no work at all when you were on the cover of Sounds magazine.

Slade The Leveller (Justin Sullivan of New Model Army for anyone younger than 30 )always maintained that his alias was simply to hide what he was doing from the dole office.

Same tale told by Captain Sensible IIRC; names were changed to protect the guilty from the DHSS
