Demoes for the follow-up to 'First And Last Always'?

a) I've heard a snippet of Ritual. Howard Thompson has the full demo. It definitely morphed into 'Come Together'. Trev might also have heard it via HT. 'Ritual' had lyrics.
b) I played Wayne's rejected demos to small groups of folks in Belgium and Leeds when we were crowdfunding . All tracks became m*****n songs and closely resemble them.
c) There are also some Craig instrumental demoes. One absolute pearler sounds like 'Crazy Horses' played over the 'Floorshow' drum pattern.
d) There is a demo track with full lyrics sung by Wayne called 'Sister Speed'
e) + A couple of tracks that neither Wayne or Craig are sure what they are and don't think it's either of them that wrote them i.e. they could be Andrew. One certainly bears a slight resemblance to 'Bury Me Deep'.
f) Exactly what Andrew had on the go and when - we'll never know but ... He had some demos for FALAA that he played the band in Strawberry in 1984. Some of this was definitely not recorded. Could some of it have morphed into Gift/Floodland material? Yes. Did it? Lord, knows. There are definitely (more) demos by the end of 1985: 'Ritual', 'Corrosion', 'Torch', 'Lucretia' and 'Giving Ground' at least, in some form, in my opinion e.g. the baseline for Lucretia. The instrumental demo for 'Giving Ground' became The Sisterhood's first single; no re-recording. At some point in early 1986, there are also 'Colours' and 'Rain From Heaven'. These are syphoned off for use on 'Gift'. 'Dominion' is also likely by this point, even back in Hamburg in 1985.

b)-e) are all on tapes that Wayne/Craig have.

I have never heard it but it is mentioned in Trevor Ristow's excellent Waiting For Another War. How he got his information about that track I don't know.

No, it's not. bismarck = Trevor Ristow, and it was (we presume) privately played for him by Howard Thompson, who owns the only known copy. It's otherwise unknown (most of us didn't even know there was a song named Ritual until relatively recent). What's also interesting is, if it's the same tape I'm thinking of, there is also an early version of Torch on the tape.

I remember when I first heard Come Together back in 1993 I thought, this sounds like 'old sister'. I didn't realise how old.

I was also looking forward to the next album.
