Let's NOT do this 2023 year anymore....i want out!
mother nature has really turned me grey with worry whenp the floods in NZ started when my sister and her family made their way back home from holiday to miss them by a few hours! then not a week later but a cyclone Gabrielle hit near their hometown and never was i scared because my sister got scared but what can you do from the other side of the world?
they were not hit as badly as others that lost loved ones but that stress. and then there was an earthquake but that was not close to them. wtf 3 natural distasters in 3 weeks basically.
oh then the earthquake in Turkey and Syria...those poor people and all those lost RIP...
and now my son who out of the blue left for my homeland with loadshedding and water cuts to a country where i hope he finds peace of mind. a young adult who is on the verge of a burnout because of work. god i hope my mom and aunt can keep him safe and that he just winds down.
and look it's only february!

The last week at the fiend household has been a long year. Thank fook for the NHS who have saved Kerry's life. Less than two months from her approaching her GP with the feeling "this is wrong" to the operation that has removed what turned out to be a tumour and a bunch of associated lymph nodes.
Yeah so fuck cancer. The NHS is amazing despite Tory attempts to destroy it.

That's a shocking nightmare, markfiend. Good to hear it was handled fast and efficiently. Yeah, f**k cancer !!!
All the best to Kerry with loads of good energies and hugs !!!
@Debs
Oh hell, that's a lot of mess for such a short time. I also have a feeling recently, the world is about to go down with all these catastrophes and crises and wars. But then, after watching some documentaries about vulcanos and stuff I think, the planet will surely survive us ... and we all knew it in the 70s already. So what but never give up and hope and dream for the best !!!

Bloody hell
Brother Mark thats harsh as fu
ck! not something that anyone needs or deserves to go through, especially not 2 such genuinely lovely folks as Mr & Mrs Fiend! but you know what? i am going to treat this as good news, because Kerry DID listen to her own intuition with regard to her body instead of ignoring it -or worrying but doing nothing- and because you DID get it sorted quickly when she saw the doctor.
Too many people think they are wasting NHS time or whatever, or worse cant get through the minefield of discouragement that surrounds consultation these days. but really, whilst we still have it, our NHS is an invaluable treasure to re cherished.
Love to (and raising a glass to the health of) you both.
& aye, FU
CK CANCER.

I forgot to mention: one of the women in the ward with Kerry (who had had very similar surgery) didn't have a single visitor. Her husband was "too busy at work" apparently. What a cock.
When Kerry came home (this time last week) she left the flowers I'd brought for her, to cheer the other lady up.

aww sweetheart that long year in a week is a hurricane everyone goes through in this lifetime and thank the stars that the NHS had those devoted doctors that took action immediately. kudos to Kerry for knowing her body and knowing something was wrong. she is incredible like that and one of the best tip top classy woman i have ever met with a heart of gold. she has kicked cancer in the face like strong woman do and her having you as her husband has pulled her through. together you have already won the fight and now the healing begins.
we here are throwing you both the HL effect that we are with you both cause we know the process of it all and f
uckcancer is where we stand!
* those flowers you left ... bless Kerry! that must have been one hell of a story poor lady.

yes it has been. a week has felt like a day and i do not agree with ageing this way.
that feeling is felt everywhere i think a global feeling & we all know we are in for a s**t load of natural distasters that will be coming more often and more fiercely than we can recover from before the next thing happens. if you are prepared and think the worst doing your preparations you should be okay. but if it comes when you are asleep do you lie there with one eye open?

Yeah, there's always the next catastrophe lingering ahead waiting for the moment when things look like improving for once ... *sigh ... seen that so often that the only choice seems to be living in the present, enjoy the wonderful and positive moments (which are always there) and to do all the good things I love to do (if and as long as possible).
