looks like his hosting company have added a default document "index.html" to his website and its overwritten his proper one :urff:

this still works:

http://www.garymarx.com/index.htm

seeing as his site run's on an apache server I'd suggest they go back and add "index.htm" into the DirectoryIndex section of the apache config file.

Bloody amatuers

sounds like the webhosts reinstalled the server (OS etc) - including the default index.html holding page, then reinstalled the site from a back-up. But since the site's main page is index.htm it didn't over-write the holding page.

Just deleting index.html will work - and perhaps adding an index.html page which forwards to index.htm, so if the same thing happens again then the holding page will get overwritten.

I did drop him a line about Driver or the early demo of Burn, but to no avail. Maybe I should PM him on the GD forum?

I just got the "1995 and Nowhere" CD and I think it is quite good... although there is no another "Some Kind Of Stranger" on it, Gary came up with some good ideas. shame that Von did not want to co-operate with him...
