I'm a bit more optimistic that we'll definitely get something, on the basis that we have done for the past few years: first time official release of the BBC sessions, and anniversary releases of Reptile House and the 1984 singles.

My optimism doesn't extend to what we'll get, though. So I'm sticking to my guns that it'll be a coloured vinyl RSD reissue of FALAA with minimal packaging.

to be fair the only time ever seen them play Walk Away was an astounding sing-along at the Roundhouse. even Von seemed impressed by the reception it got (and not just because he must have been the only one who didnt know the words)

That was great, Von shrugging his shoulders, shaling his head saying "I really don't get this", and looking puzzled as everyone sang along...

That again would do for me.

It might just mean there's a separate anniversary release coming, or it might indeed mean we're getting nothing. Life as a Sisters fan is an adventure!

It might just mean there's a separate anniversary release coming, or it might indeed mean we're getting nothing. Life as a Sisters fan is an adventure!

Isn't there a couple of record store days per year these ahem days? Plus Black Friday. Plus the HMV thing that gave us Floodland. But yeah, nothing sounds most likely.

How many copies of the previous Sisters RSD releases were there and did they all sell out..

Maybe they're waiting for the 45th anniversary, haha. What I'm sure of is that if we don't hear anything after March 11, it's probably because there won't be anything.

On the other hand, Rhino are doing a picture disc reissue of Starship's mighty We Built This City On Rock 'n' Roll, so all is well in the world.

My dream is to see the Sisters covering it in Leeds. Of course if it ever does happen everybody will know it was my fault.

If I remember rightly, Derry City FC released a version of it as did Half Man Half Biscuit. Both with slightly different words it has to be said...

HMHB covered it? I've never heard that. Now that is a life goal.

Quite right. Though it's we build this village. It's a cover in spirit though I'd say. Even if the words are completely different. Which only would make sense in the Biccies world. Bloomsbury peripherals! If you haven't heard it I recommend their live cover of I Think We're Alone Now but maybe not perhaps Jimmy Jimmy.

That said, I'd dispute that it's a cover. I think it's just a song with a title/chorus that parodies the phrase.

In an alternate universe, we'd get a CD and Vinyl boxset with several discs including remastered album, singles, unreleased tracks, live material, DVD/Blu Ray of Wake, hard covered book of extensive liner notes written by a band member, plus experts on the band, photos galore, poster, etc. etc. In this one, I'd also be surprised to hear any song played live come this May in London. A lot of great records came out in 1985, but this is one that definitely deserves stellar treatment.

I'd say it's in the Paintball's Coming Home territory cover-wise. If it's any consolation I can never remember what HMHB songs are actually called, which is possibly a cardinal sin. I know the lyrics off by heart but the actual song titles weirdly not. I always insist they have a song called 'The King of Welsh Goth' ...which to be fair they really should have.

I was listening to the new and improved version of Queen I this morning and, man alive, it's probably the most worthwhile of these types of rereleases I've ever heard. Taylor's drums sound fantastic, much better than the soppy soft s**t on the original (which is still available so don't @ me).

That was produced with a wide range of demos to select different edits out of, computer wizardry and probably a f**k-ton of cash but it got me thinking about what could be possible with FALAA and what a shame we'll probably never get it.

Were there any demos of that period stored anywhere?

It's also worthwhile to compare the LP versions to a good quality Black October recording, and be amazed at the difference. That lineup definitely peaked with Black October, despite the well-known problems, and the live takes are a totally different beast to what was recorded in the studio.
