i ran over a rabbit last weekend.

little thing went under the car.

i cared. i cried.

and i saw a wood pigeon give birth later that day.

it was so sweet. the langour of my work washed over me as i watched it tend to its young.

then i ran over this badger.

the little f***er pushed the rim out and gave me a flat.

so i hit it. with a baguette.

My housemate once ran over a cat. It lived, and as they were making room in the car to take it to a vet, another car whizzed by and ran it over too. It didn't survive the second time. Only in the movies...and New Jersey.

Erm. They did move the cat from the road, right?

Look, Mr Sensitive, I thought you meant did they remove it from the road after it got run over the second time. I personally wouldn't touch that mess. Ew. But I might poke it with a baguette.

If you got it right with the baguette, you could probably turn it into one of those subway things that everyone is getting so excited about over on the other channel.

round here it tends to be more skunks and raccoons that end up as road kill, and as it's the end of the corn season there is a lot of deer milling around next to the road, kinda where the corn used to be looking all embarassed, i wonder what it is they do in there? anyway, yeah, hitting a deer at 70 mph (ooops, i mean 55mph, honest occifer) is far more disasterous then hitting, say, a cat.

as a side note, apparently (according to mrs meth, the kindergarten teacher) a raccoon will turn to liquid if you hit it moving fast enough, hummmmm...

it takes a lot to make me laugh. the image of a dead cat in a baguette being served up in one of those frightful sandwich outlets came very close.
