You must, of course, be Karst De Jong from the Sisters/m*****n lists.
Nice to see that some of us still remember each other. :)

Wim Vandeputte. I just remember his sig strangely: "Jack of all trades, master of none."

Heh. Did you ever get any of his discs (did anybody for that matter). for those who weren't around, Mr. D. decided to sell some of his recordings which he made of soundchecks and concerts to recoup some of his travelling expenses on Dominion. Needless to say that that didn't go down to well.
I assumed that the ones in circulation from that tour were from his recordings. Am I wrong? I never got anything from him, though.

He was at a few dates of the eXXile tour. After that, he resurfaced about two years ago and was selling several items under a new name on eBay. I can dig out his useranme if anyone really needs to now it. He even posted his number on Dominion for those who wanted to call him! I heard that some people never got their items from his eBay auctions, while others apparently did get stuff (some quickly, others later). After winning a couple of his auctions, I found out that he was the seller, which made me uneasy. He never completely replied after the auctions, which may have been fortuante because I then never sent any money to him. Ultimately, I did not lose any money on him, which may make my transaction more successful than others'.

Adam still pops up from time to time on Dominion. I think that his most recent post was about a month or two ago.

Does anyone still have a photo of Mr Dorf lying around somewhere on their hard drive? I remember he had one up on a webpage somewhere.

Also, has anyone seen Jochen Upheber at any recent gigs?

he is a member here but has only made a couple of posts.

he recently became a father, so i guess that and wishville take up a sizable amount of the time he should be asleep ;)

I remember Tobias Dorff. I remember him setting up a fake Baxcorp emailaccount mailing to Dominion in his own defence, then there was a reply from the real Baxcorp calmly stating that they knew where he lived. And apparently they did. I still remember the name of the place for some reason. Everything else is foggy. :urff:

That was a fun episode but it flooded my mailbox and that was about the time I trailed off from Dominion.

Martin, you might want to publicise Dorf's username of Ebay here to avoid people that disappointment.

Clif, can't remember the pic and if I ever had it, it must 've gotten lost when I moved to Northern Ireland. I do remember seeing him at the Ancienne Belgique gig back in '98 together with his posse. Seemed rather thuggish.

Think Jochen was about when the Ternat gig was happening (thuink he might have recorded the boot for that). Not sure though.

Depends on which tours we're talking about. I've got a tape of the Dublin gig of Distance Overtime which definitely is not his (guy who taped it sent it to me). I've also got a two tape set from the Rensburg Supercrash Festival which I got from Nik Cap. I'm not sure which gigs from the Event Horizon tour are in circulation beside the UK ones. Clif might know more about this.

Jochen was at quite a few gigs on the last tour, and is currently studying hard to become a qualified lawyer.

On the subject of Tobias Dorf - it is clear that quite a few of his s**t recordings of 1998 gigs and soundchecks have made it into alot of traders collections - some of whom condemned Dorf for his activities. Go figure.

Sleeping with the fishes maybe.

Caused a lot of trouble for everybody else, even those of us who had no dealings with him.

A scary thing for me: I still telnet to get to one account. In fact it is one from my university and I used to use ot for dominion. One day they will pull the plug on that account (I graduated 10 years ago and am running out of people whom I know on the tech staff ) I amaze my older colleagues at work who are quasi-geeks when I log on. They get this look of reminiscence. :D

I just telneted to my old account and found his username at eBay: revererate. Whenever I clean out messages in that account and I come across his email, I check at eBay to see if that is still an active user. Since the big sale in January 2001 ( :!: I am and archgivist if I still have those emails!), I have not seen any activity under that name. Take a look at the feedback. He has had multiple usernames, though. The email used at the time started Elderitch55. I will not give the rest, lest evryone here floods his inbox.

You're damn right, especially after the massive disappointment that was Vision Thing :( We were all expecting Floodland II.

Tobias Dorf asked me several times if I wanted to trade, but I never replied to a single e-mail.

I've traded with dozens of people on Dominion and the Sisters community at large over the years, but Tobi was never one of them. I don't care what recordings he had.

I stopped trading almost entirely in 1999, and gave almost everything I had, including my master tapes (SF 1985, two from SF 1991, and my master minidisks from SF 1998) to a guy named Ian Morrison. If you have any of those shows, chances are they are from those recordings.

He was a nice guy who didn't have much, so I helped him out, and within a few years he had the biggest list of anyone I knew of in the US.
He built up hist list damn fast. Keep in mind that Trevor and I built up our lists in the days before the web and e-mail., when people still wrote LETTERS and sent Xeroxed lists to each other.

I put Ian in contact with Trevor, and their collections probably dwarf mine now.

I believe that RobF and I may have played pool with Tobias a couple of years ago, somewhere up north. But I'm terrible with names and not an initiate of the Secret Society Of Traders And Tour Followers, so I may well be mistaken. But I won the pool game, and that's the main thing.

Trevor's collection is at least 22 CDs bigger than it was a month ago. :innocent:

I had the impression that it was the Europrean leg of the Event Horizon tour at the beginning of 1998 which he recorded and then sold on Dominion. I never traded with him, so I do not know if the copies in circulation are from him or not.

From that tour: does anyone hve a decent copy of the Prague gig? Mine jumps and squeaks badly in some sections. It sounds as though someone keeps bumping into the records and hitting the pause button slightly.

Hi there, Clif. Funny thing, I remembered you asking about "Beluga Pop" on Dominion a couple of years ago, when this "cocoamix" character did the same thing in the Trading section. :)

Wow, mugabe is Mr. Svensson.
See, that's partially why I started this thread, to see if any of us "here" were any of the people "then" and "there."

It is kinda weird though, finding out that someone you didn't think you really knew here is actually someone you've already known for years.

Kind of like finding out that chick you've been cybering with for the past few months is actually your sister in the next room.
Well, not exactly, but you get the idea.

Nice to hear from you again, Par.

I can always contact Wim Vandeputte, if you want. He lives not far from my place.
Seems he's not into the Sisters anymore as he used to be...
BTW, didn't we have a poster here from Belgium, called WimmNess? :innocent:
