Best cover version by the sisters

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I seem to remember him saying something like
"you're just going to love this one" or something similar and launching in to
"he's got the whole world in his hands"

memory is fading fast

Wasn't "Whole World In His Hands" at Reading '91?

Emma. Not only is it their best, it's one of the best covers any band have ever done, full stop.

I like the earlier Jolene better than the post 1990 versions.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Confide In Me (very drunken)

Das machte viele Leute sehr wütend und wurde allenthalben als Schritt in die falsche Richtung angesehen."

Black Planet wrote:Emma because of the lyrics. It's a very powerful Mr. Chris, did you ever listen to the version of Jolene I sent you? Can you say it's good by any stretch of the imagination?

Good lord, what next, Von in boot cut levi's, cowboy boots and hat, and bolo tie?

LMAO... I think I might pay money to see Von like that!!!

I did, I did, and it wasn't the best version, no... but I still like it. I like a little gender identity tension in a song. Speaking of which, anyone heard Joss Stone singing Fell in Love with a Boy yet? Who needs the White Stripes! :D :D

I do.
Loki was never worshiped as the other Gods,
Which is quite understandable.

Believe it was 'I just know you're going to hate this'.

But I could be wrong as he had his shirt off at the time.

An old old topic, but hey, I'm at work and bored...

Comfortably Numb (NEC92) :notworthy:
Jolene (Kid Jensen session 83) :notworthy:
Emma (Wake soundtrack)
Gimme Shelter (studio version)

But really, you could go on all night.
There is increasing evidence to suggest that Chris may have been being sarcastic.

Last time I saw 'The Sisters' the entire set seemed to be by a band doing one cover after another...
I am a Leeds United fan because I was very naughty in a previous life.

You need to listen to Antony And The Johnsons - I Fell In Love With A Dead Boy.
