The Word 'Grebo'

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

My dog (RIP) had a nice proper lead and would not keep the regulation scarf on.

Nor did I have dreads or a German Army Jacket. But I did have black Belgian combats which were both stylish & hardwearing.

Gaye Bykers on Acid!! I used to be into them, saw them supporting The Cult a couple of times. They used to have an alter-ego band called Lesbian Dopeheads On Mopeds!!
useless info for you, the lead singer from GBOA went on to sing for Apollo 440

More useless info

GBOA - Mary Byker was in Pigface, for a while, wasn't everyone?
PWEI - Clint Mansell now writes soundtracks
Crazyheid - bass player was called The Pork Beast
Wonderstuff - not grebo, but certainly dull
The Ned's - nice idea two bass players, never really happened, did it?

I've just realised Mr The Goth was talking about crusties, not greebs..there was some crossover but there was a difference, as shown in Richey James' ( the other one) comment that if you shouted 'Jeremy' at a Levellers gig every man in the audience would look round.

Indeed. I seem to recall reading about just such a youth/sub-culture around the time the term came back into use.

Though a certain Mr Manning was possibly the "coolest" Grebo (if there can be such a thing) I am aware of, past or present. :von:
