1990 or 1991... I'm 32 but my memory seems to be the worst here
I heard them accidentally from the radio, it was Vision Thing maybe... I can't say which songs they played (maybe one of them was "Ribbons", maybe something from "Floodland") but it was very poweful. Like a revelation ;D

You know who you are!
I'm 37. Mind of a 14 year old. Body of a 36 year old. Spirit of a 3000 year old.

Hey, BP...I have it in me to be a bastard (which a few of us have heard somewhere before, right?), one daughter thinks I'm groovy, and one thinks I'm bordering on elderly. Can I be EBG too?
Oh yeah- Body Electric/Adrenochrome in 82. First gig in early 83.

Perceptions on that night?
Eldritch- what a nice man. Why's he staring directly at my girlfriend all the time?
The audience? What the hell kind of dance is that?
The t-shirts? Never seen anything like that before. Want one now.
Marx- the most stylish axe moves I've ever seen.
The sound? Hope the whole of the north-west can hear this.
Gunn- Move!
Adams- What the **** is that?

By the next morning I was a totally different person. Altogether.

I believe time was creeping along into 2001 before I listened properly ("oh.. *now* I get it!") Prior to that, I think I'd heard them but hadn't been very impressed.

Yes, I know. The shame.

Can I plead insanity, or something?

In my case.. it was a few months before Floodland was released... there was a local club where they played Alice and TOL.. didn't know which band it was at first.. asked the dj.. went to a record store in Aachen, listened to FALAA .. and that's when the whole thing started..

In 1984 a friend wrote a tape . alice was on that tape, and she
came to stay...

1985.

June 1985 to be precise. How's that for bad timing?

To think of all the dire bands I saw in the early eighties, not knowing what I was missing..

I've made up for it though. And I never was keen on sideburns.

I was 12 back in 92' when my eardrums were awakened to the delights of Some Kind Of Stranger.
My old man heard it in a Manchester (scum) record store & bought FALAA about 2 seconds later (or so he says).
Daft thing is, I listened to SKOS non stop for months before actually bothering to listen to the rest of the album !

Whilst agreeing wholeheartedly with the sentiments of the last few posts, please start your own love-in on a seperate thread and do not change the direction of this one. Any of you. This is, finally, an interesting and relevant poll. Thank you. :von:

That's us told.

I'll still assert my right to be nice (or nasty, or whatever) to anyone at any time, as I see fit, mind, just like anyone else. I'll also uphold everybody else's right to do the same. Rest assured that I won't get in your way, Johnny! Please carry on. :D :D :D

I'd love to Gripper ...but unfortunately I've gone into Rolly Beckett (sp?) mode, which means 'I'm verir, verir ...'Indians!' ...verir, verir ...'as big as an elephants todger, don't you know!' ... verir, verir, VERY drunk'. And that was nice. Mrs JB has now gone into 'bed' ( :D ) mode. Good night!

Rowley Birkin, if I could correct you.
Congratulations on being so spectacularly drunk at this time- half past ten- on a Friday night. And even bigger congratulations to Mrs. JB for being even more drunk.

So am I :|

Tell you what Red, just imagine if you'd never heard of The Sisters, and then someone showed you this thread. Would you a) bother to read it to the end? b) wonder how come you'd missed out on everything? or c) go out and buy a big hat?

C'mon everyone, we want to read more tales of how you and The Sisters collided.
