1990 or 1991... I'm 32 but my memory seems to be the worst here
I heard them accidentally from the radio, it was Vision Thing maybe... I can't say which songs they played (maybe one of them was "Ribbons", maybe something from "Floodland") but it was very poweful. Like a revelation

I believe time was creeping along into 2001 before I listened properly ("oh.. *now* I get it!") Prior to that, I think I'd heard them but hadn't been very impressed.

In my case.. it was a few months before Floodland was released... there was a local club where they played Alice and TOL.. didn't know which band it was at first.. asked the dj.. went to a record store in Aachen, listened to FALAA .. and that's when the whole thing started..

In 1984 a friend wrote a tape . alice was on that tape, and she
came to stay...

I've made up for it though. And I never was keen on sideburns.

I was 12 back in 92' when my eardrums were awakened to the delights of Some Kind Of Stranger.
My old man heard it in a Manchester (scum) record store & bought FALAA about 2 seconds later (or so he says).
Daft thing is, I listened to SKOS non stop for months before actually bothering to listen to the rest of the album !
