They do learn, but it's only temporary. This short-term memory thing also means they think they're always right, because they can't remember what the argument was. Bless 'em.

Someone's got to look after Mr. Snowey. He can't manage it all by himself.
Plus I've got to keep an eye on him for if he sees any nice looking women in the same room - he dribbles. You should have seen the state of his shirt when he saw Corppunk at Crewe.
