The whole Boar Lane/ Calls area has changed beyond recognition over the last 10 years. Hyde Park/ Woodhouse hasn't though. And the Headingley residents have lost the battle with the students - the Lounge Cinema's been redeveloped with a bar (and a club?) attached.

Personally, I think the Council have maintained a good balance of visually impressive new buildings while renovating the stunning architecture of some of the old Victorian ones. I keep meaning to take up photography and have a bit of fun atop the numerous City Centre car parks, but then I open another bottle of beer ...

I'm not a bitter man and as far as I'm concerned, lager is lager is lager. Unless it's Skol, in which case it's p!ss. Generally Tetley's Bitter. Boddingtons if you're lucky. Sam Smiths? Fosters, Castlemaine or Carling with the usual bottled offerings. As long as it gets you drunk enough to join in a bit of friendly slam-dancing, it doesn't really matter does it?

Seemed appropriate to add this:

Many users live in The Sisters' and Heartland's spiritual home, Leeds. Therefore there are a few in-jokes and expressions used here that come from living around Leeds and knowing other members in the real world. If you don't understand one, ask! We're not a clique, and will make you feel welcome wherever you live.

Apologies if I've missed anyone out. You can buy me a drink as a reminder!

Rock and roll!

Confirm, deny, add or amend below.

Edit: Remembered that haven't actually met Mr Fiend yet.
 I shall be there....sitting in the corner with an ice pack on my clavicle. Need to practice that 'cold shoulder' routine when I see Thrash...

Quiff? Jo and Ian are fine to come along ain't they? House trained and everything

Ooops! I knew I was gonna come a cropper with this one. Sorry! It must have been all those Pixies and Killers posts that confused me. Very glad to hear you'll be there. I'll buy you a half of shandy in recompense. Any body else?

Is that 'usual suspect' as in a Heartleand related do or as in someone you're quite likely to bump into wandering into any bar at random in Leeds? I do other things you know. Sometimes...

@ Big Si - Think The Woolpack from Emmerdale with maybe the lights dimmed slightly, the odd disco light and a merest hint of dry ice and you're probably there. Just smile politely and nod inthe right places.

@ JC - Coming out to play on sunday? :)

if I came over ( deferred business trip, still trying to rationalise the idea of getting on a boat for a one day trip up to Leeds) would anyone be going out for a few quiet drinks beforehand, say the Angel :?:

TTFN 8)

Nah, don't worry Si, you can get just about what you want. Depends what time you're starting and where you want to go really! If it's lagers you're after there's a few places focused on the Belgian side of things... We all ought to arrange some sort of start time and meet up really, if anyone's interested in doing that prior to the evening do...

Okay! I'll find out what time SG and RJ are thinking of landing (haven't seen them miss out on a pub meet up yet) and we'll sort something out. Bet we'll manage to gather in a few other lost souls too...

the pub/bar upstairs is open all day i think. we open downstairs at 8, but if you put a glass to the floor and strain you can probably expect to here some tunes cranked out as of about 7pm... ;)

Not sure exactly what time I'll be coming out to play yet or whether Mrs T will be chaperoning me. She's a spur of the moment kind of gal and likes to keep me on my toes. I'm sure I'll catch up with you all eventually. And no hiding in the toilets when you see me coming like last time...
