Black Metal's A Laugh!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Horgh one of the best black metal drummers
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight ;)

never have guessed he was the drummer  :innocent:

actually, now i think about it would be quite hard to tell who the drummer is in most of those bands... the usual rule about the drummer being the big, daft, ugly f*cker in the band doesnt apply when every member looks like that

Cheers :D I'd googled for it and it only came up with one halfassed picture. That mic stand is beautiful, but so wasted on Jonathan Davis.

"With Goth On Our Side"

My name it is Dai Young,
I'm the king of Welsh Goth,
The village I come from,
Is near Abersoch.

I was brought up on Bauhaus,
And black bedroom walls,
And I had my first snakebite,
When I was in halls.

Now the graveyard is calling,
The sky's getting greyer,
I'll drink the warm blood of the borough surveyor,
And I'll murder the verger,
I've seen how he gawps,
And I'll write on his headstone "Here lies Jones the Corpse".

Now my overweight girlfriend,
She sits and she crimps.
Her mothers convinced shes communing with imps,
Her brothers alright though,
He's a good lad is Wilf,
Cos he's into Placebo and Cradle of Filth.

At my gig up in Butlins,
The red-coats complained,
They tried to remove me - the bottles they rained,
But for the first time in history I did "Run and Hide",
And the scousers in shell-suits,
Had Goths on their side.

Now this land of my fathers,
It don't suit my needs,
I'd rather be someplace,
Like Bradford or Leeds,
Where the Gimpton teenagers could meet in my shed,
For advice on masscara,
And all things undead.

Now my left index finger,
Is nine inches long,
It's hovering over,
A world that's gone wrong,
Ask me to Prestatyn,
And thats what I'll do,
And we'll all die together,
And Dylan can sue.

With thanks to Mr. N. Blackwell, HMHB (sounds like some sort of award - perhaps it ought to be?!) . Taken from the excellent album, Trouble Over Bridgewater :notworthy: :notworthy:

Giger did an Emerson, Lake & Palmer sleeve, last century, of course 1974 IIRC

I think you actually need to listen to the music and appreciate their musical talent. Everyone here is too quick to dismiss them because of how they look in their photos. BM drummers are phenomonal musicians as are the guitarists. I am a huge BM fan and have been since I really got into music. I agree some of the photos are silly but alot of the bands in the list are the best in the scene. BM has got me through some very difficult times simply because of the intensity and emotion involved. There is nothing like listening to Immortal's "At the Heart of Winter" and watching your best mates do silly black metal poses around your front room to cheer you up after being dumped.

The gifted and talented dark-minded musicians play in BM-bands.

The c.rappy ones buy a drum machine and start a Goth-band.
