ahhhh, what a night!!

dunno about anyone else but i really enjoyed it :D

cheers for gripper (& other), emilystrange & mr strange, d00my & scardwell, lars and everyone else for their attendance. :von:

managed to play a goodly selection of classic tunes that you don't hear played any more, and this fullfilled my remit nicely i think 8)

decided while i was there that i would deliberatly keep the number of sisters tracks down to a minumum (think i only blayed blood money, while the resident played alice & temple IIRC)

we wrote down playlists as we went along, so when paul posts them on the "black sheep" forum i'll put 'em on here to.

was a great atmosphere all night - started getting more people around about 9.30, and we managed to keep it going until 1, which was nice :)

repect to the blonde woman in the marylin manson tee that kept requesting old batcave tracks, and danced to almost everything :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

jansenclone: can't believe you & dave got turned away! wtf? it wasn't that busy!! :( :( :( that's harsh! tell dave to have a shave next time... don't they know who he is FFS?

aye, anyroad. it was ace. i danced to loads of stuff, played some of my fave records for others to dance to, chatted to some groovy people, and got very drunk.

top one 8)

sarah brighton: how can heaven love me

its the most preposterous AOR song about god not loving vampires or somesuch...

the lead vocals are by ms brightman and some dodgy aor/mor chap, but von comes in towards the end and does a little german rapping  :notworthy:

The bloke singing on it is one Chris Thompson of 'Manfred Mann's Earth Band' fame. He's also written songs for Bonnie Tyler, Jennifer Rush, Starship and loads of other AOR type acts.

Here are the lyrics for the bit where Von does the "rapping" :von:

Die Welt ein Tor
Zu tausend Wsten stumm und kalt
wer das verlor, was du verlorst
Macht nirgends halt

(roughly) translated into English:

The world is a gate
Two thousand deserts still and cold
He is lost, which you lost
Stopped by nothing
On my arm I shall hold
