Isnt that abit crap?
Both of your statements are absolutely correct.
There was a Extension for Firefox to allow you to do Windows Updates, but I've had a quick trawl through all the available ones for the lastest version (1.0) and it doesn't seem to be there any more.

The reason Windows Update doesn't work in Firefox is due (I think) to it using Active X commands which Firefox doesn't use. And hence the reason it is generally more secure than IE.

rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd post this here:

A company called SolarPC has just announced the first $100 PC called the SolarLite. It is a solid-state computer targeted at organizations that require the efficiency of a maintenance free Internet PC. The SolarLite was also created to offer an ecologically and economically viable method to provide information to billions of disadvantaged people around the world. In addition, it serves as a response to last month's challenge by Microsoft's Steve Ballmer for the computer industry to build a $100 PC.
more info: clicky

no doubt Apple will release their own version of the $100 PC soon, in a pastel coloured, suavely designed case...

...for £999.99. ;)
