we have a boss (HellBitch) who favours 'focus groups' (I reach for my gun when I hear those words) and on the tagline front, the one that stood out for me was -
XXX Council, not as bad as you think we are

it's a FACT! too

On a related note, Essex Police community unit went into schools in Basildon and encouraged kids to produce upbeat slogans for their town.

One of the shortlisted ones was "Basildon: because you're worth it".

I find that works on so many levels.
Don't you mean "wurrfff eet?" Onwards and upwards for Estuary English! ;D

My suggestion of "Aziw'uh: The land that consonants forgot" didn't go down too well. Apparently I was too old to enter.

But inventing alternatives kept us entertained for longer than it should.

"Doesn't even look pretty when it snows"

"At least it's not Harlow"

"Rotting grey concrete since 1958"

"You're nicked, you slag!"

It's a game anyone can join in ... and if you're not familiar just adjust for Cumbernauld or Airdrie instead.

"Here lies Charles Shuckworth.

And why not?"
