and the band members this year

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Well, there is a difference between someone hoping to get an audition and a band actually looking for a bassist. I do not see much reason to be optimistic because of such second-hand hearsay.
Ouch (Eldritch take note) there speaks the voice of someone very used to being let down (probably by a particular :von: )
I never talk during music, at least during good music. If one hears bad music, it is one's duty to drown it in conversation.

Not really. Yes, I would prefer a bassist. However, Eldritch is the one (I assume) who pays the salary so that is his decision to make. I just do not put too much hope in a second-hand account without more details.

Adam (whether in or out the lineup) does play bass, so there is that option. I seriously doubt, though, that he would want to move to bassist and have someone else take over lead guitar.

after the first time i saw the sisters sans bass i told everyone who'ld listen that i'ld happily do the job for nowt...imagine my embarassment when a young friend of my acquaintance (who'ld obviously never heard me play)wrote to Von c/o the reptile house to offer my services
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Ach, forgive me.
I knew it was a post with near-to-zero content, but for me it shed some light (okay, very dim light that is) on the band line-up, bass player-wise. Plus I assumed a certain interest and openness of this place to rumors... Iz all.
I'll double-check my sources of information in the future. :)

I like hearing Rumours.

But seriously, yeah, post rumours. Invent rumours if you like; I know that some people around here do.

It is rumoured that Ben Gunn will be playing bass with the Sisters this year.

He use to play guitar for the band, but left in 83 to have a sex change.

After a short absence for the operation she was back playing bass in 87.

After being sexually assualted by lead singer Andrew Eldritch, she left the band.

But in 2005, after being payed a large amount of money, she is back.

She now likes to be called Morrison.

Criag is unlikely to step back into the Sisters fold. Unless it is for heaps of money I'd say. Don't forget that Eldritch 'forgot' to pay him for the Temple of Love reissue (I believe). And anyway, Craig is otherwise occupied with the Alarm across the atlantic.

I used to have hair like that before it fell out. And I'm not remotely ashamed of it either. It's a hell of a lot more interesting than current hairstyles. I've been waiting years for women to ditch the straghteners and bleach and there's still no sign of it happening. And as for low rise, bootcut jeans  Before I'm accused of being an old fart, I'd like to point out that I hated the fashions arond in the 70s as well. The 80s did have some utterly disastrous fashions but at least there was some good ones to balance things out a bit.
