Congrats! :D

Well, what have he done for me? In addition to many things already mentioned here (like you, my friends :D :notworthy: ) one very specific thing - maybe I beat even Eva with it
I got job in a literary magazine. Before that I had very awful and boring job (I better don't name it).
All this started from one article I wrote. It seemed to be a literary criticism but actually was a hidden joke. My friend had made a book, consisting of only covers and I wrote about it, quoting The Bible and other stuff but mostly comparing the author's ideas with lines of "British poet Andrew Eldritch". People from local literary world didn't get the joke (maybe only myself and my friend) but some of them found it was a good article. ;D One of them, the editor-in-chief of the most important literary magazine, started to ask me to write articles for them. Some years later he employed me. I'm still there.
Thanks, Mr E :notworthy:

Q:when your parents are (supposedly)non-conforming,anti-establishment bikers who are into the same music as you;who do drugs around you;who let you dress however the f**k you want(as long as its "biker-style");who seriously think they are "liberal" and "easy-going";how are you gonna rebel and royally p*ss 'em off whilst still remaining true to yourself?

A:discover the sisters;play nothing but the sisters until through your expanding taste in music you discover other bands who p*ss your parents off almost(but not quite)as much as the sisters-i loved them/they f**king hated them!;start hanging around with "weirdos" and "bloody puffs" etc;then sit back and watch their pretentious "you should think yourself lucky for having such understanding parents" bull-s**t facade crumble before your very eyes!

20 years on and there's a million and one things i could say about my love affair with the sisters;but thats the one i wrote about,so there ya go. :von:

What has Eldritch ever done for me? Isn't the music more than enough?
And then there's so much more. A lifestyle, the friends I got in other fans, the brainstorming. Yes, TSOM changed my life. I don't know what my life would have been if I haven't listened to the band when I was 15. I would certainly be here, but I certainly wouldn't be the same.

What I did for Eldritch? Bought the albums and went to gigs, of course. And shared the wealth with others. There are people out there listening to TSOM because I introduced them to the band.
You know, a typical fan's obligation.

What he's given me? FRUSTRATION! I've never been patient, but waiting so bloody long time for a new album was just impossible. SO I went somewhere else and found Turbonegro. Thanks Mr Eldritch!
What I have given him? Loyalty. Until recently...

Helped out a few times. Got me to screw my head back on properly...then lecture me in the best ways to unscrew it and have a good time. Cheers.

I can see why people are giving up and leaving it...but I couldn't. No question of even asking or considering.

I. Couldn't.

Made a few tunes I enjoy, and played a couple of shows I also enjoyed. Mind you I did pay for them so it was a purely business transaction.

Same relationship as with Sainsbury's really.
