I've got no problem with dried fruit in principle, it's when said fruit pretends to be something it's not that I take exception.

Listen up, kids: Always be yourself.

Edit: Dried apricots make my tummy hurt, though. In which case, kill 'em all!

I just can't abide them, and I'm glad to know I'm not, perhaps, the only one. I just pretend I'm eating something else, which is very difficult. Perhaps women are better at this.
Yes, Christmas is a hellish time for dried fruit! As I don't like Christmas, I have no trouble avoiding festive food and there's usaully plenty of chocolate around to replace it. There's a tradition of home made Christmas cakes in my family, so I always did a trade with my sister who gladly swapped my cake for her icing, but I still remember the trauma of finding out that "mince meat" had nothing to do with meat and everything to do with dried fruit. I wish I'd been warned before tasting the damn stuff - I was just a child for god's sake!

*the minority speaks* - I like dried fruit :? Does that make me strange :?:

(I was going to add "so send all unwanted mince pies to me"....but then thought of all the offers I may get so forget that bit :) )

(I would add though, in my defence, that I do prefer chocolate)

Both sound excellent - and even better when the other half hates raisins, sultanas etc so you have to eat his for him too  (Although - have just noticed the radioactive curry paste!! Bit of a wimp when it comes to hot, so could she use a slighlty milder one :D )

Nope, it's mild, it's just the ingredients and the cooking method that turn's the pastry into a rather fetching luminous yellow colour!

Sultanas are beautiful in currys and meatballs. On there own, they're just vile.

Prawns and shrimp are crustaceans, as is the wood-louse.

Far too many legs. It shouldn't be allowed.

Sultanas! I forgot about them. Lump 'em in with currants and raisins, bastards!

What's the difference between currants, raisins and sultanas?

Actually I couldn't care less :innocent:
