I find it highly amusing seeing the current crop of pre-pupescent kiddies wearing Nirvana 'I hate myself and I want to die' hoodies. Keep wanting to offer them a helping hand...
And scariest of all... at the weekend I spotted an 8 year old wannabe-miserable-angsty-teen girl in heavy black makeup and nu-rocks - wtf are they doing making them in those sizes?! and what was her mum doing letting her buy them?!
Capitalism: dontcha just love it? ug.

My parents thought that was hilarious; thankfully, I've brought them round to
not think like that.
My Mum has a pair of New Rocks.
I'm just helping balance the scales.

Are they those awful platform boots with springs in the heels? Thankfully I haven't seen them for a couple of years but I always wondered why somebody might want to go round looking like Zebedee.

Yep! But Zebedee was cute!

Very popular, very expensive, very prone to falling apart. Only boot you can jury-rig with a soldering iron and some steel wire.

Also very prone to ripping your feet to shreds
Well, the red flame boots as shown above did to my feet anyway.

I got the ones with heels.
After years of swearing I'd never jump on the New Rocks bandwagon... they lured me in with three inches of metallic goodness...

i'm with sinny and andrew s - nu rocks are bloody awful
i remember when goff footwear used to be thin, pointy and almost dainty. picie-like.
whats with all this clompy s**t? and all that dumb-ass rivet and spring nonsense? novelty footwear?
to me it smacks of a backlash against being beaten up and picked on my chavs and townies... get yourself a huge pair of boots so you look hard!
which is a lie, coz you dont. if you're thin you look like a stick with huge feet, and if you aint thin you look like a hulking great beast.
they just aren't flattering.
and every ikkle mansonite s**t hanging around a corn exchange near you wears them.
very exclusive, non?
the devils footwear.
get yersen a nice pair of
creepers and you cant go wrong
ahem

It still is. It's just no-one makes it that way any more.

Actually, I think you're right about New-Rocks. Bloody awful things. What was I thinking?
I plead mitigating circumstances:
- Youth and inexperience
- Long and distinguished service
They are now gathering dust having been unworn for at least a couple of years.
