Vicious Pink--bad music, worse singing. Sheesh.
In a Spanish radio interview last week, the DJ asked Eldritch what his five favourite records were. After hearing just three the DJ gave up. "The first was Elgar's Cello Concerto. Number Two was 'Je T'Aime' [** see footnote] and I was just about to get into the details of how Gary Glitter must be an awesomely intelligent human being to create anything as ridiculous and fantastic as 'Didn't Know I Loved You Till I Saw You Rock'n'Roll' when he pulled the plugs. I was serious about them though."
Been a fan of some kinda trash -euro-dance-techno music, but** 'Je T'Aime'-- Eldritch is almost certainly referring to Vicious Pink's 1983 cover of this classic. The title is French for "I love you".
who said AE did NOT mean the original version?whitesatin wrote:CorpPunk wrote: If she's not careful she's gonna put someone's eye out.

vicious pink is probably the worst I've ever heard.
even though the-piece-of-junk like songs, that lady's voice have some point.very sensual,husky....kinda sexy.
Well ,Eldritch definetely mad about her at that times. that voice and ... maybe he loved more her luscious looks than the voice.
but i'd rather recommend the original version of Je T'aime......(by Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin)

Yes, I am a trainspotter.

Rosetta Stone already did it, and seeing as their cover of When the Levee Breaks stopped Von from covering it I on't see him doing Venus In Furs either.MrChris wrote:Eldritch doing Venus in Furs? The dark prince discovers sadomasochism? That would be a nice dream......
I'm sure the royalties helped ease the pain...MrChris wrote:You would have thought Andy Warhol would have loved it. I bet Page and Plant do, too. Not the track, the being covered. By anyone. For Warhol, the worse the cover, the bigger the compliment, I would have thought.
Ever heard Andrew warbling Jolene? Good god it's awful!MrChris wrote:That's right. Even the legendary Dolly Parton has had to put up with being covered by some really awful bands. And the Sisters.
