If you'd ever encountered the bottle green hordes in Sauchiehall Street at 4 o'clock on a Friday afternoon, you'd see why.
Back me up on this one

Alright, you've asked for it. I've got a few pictures from the school's website to proove how crappy our uniform (namely the horrific blazer) is:
The year above us gets taught German. Though this picture was taken about 2 or 3 years ago with the old German teacher, the effect is full enough.
And of course, at the end of the day, we get
out of that bloody place as quick as we can.

Tee hee.
My school blazer was classic black.

You don't have to worry 'bout that though, when

I quite liked the 'uniform' at our school too... The only rule was you had to be dressed in dark blue (with white or blue shirt), was very handy when being in a rush in the morning
(only thing is: ever since, I refuse to wear anything distantly looking like that
)

Is that not a contradiction in terms?
Do elaborate

well I think the point was that I never actually wore it *to the rules* and managed to get away with it throughout high school. I remember my report when I left saying "her appearance is
'technically' correct"
ETA - these awards were all devised by some people in my year to be given out at the end of exam's party (smoker of the year, slag of the year etc). My name was called out, everyone clapped and cheered (even the bitch brigade who always hated me) and
for one instant I was cool - funny, they never thought I was cool before!

I was told at the beginning of Sixth Year that my dyed black hair (which is almost black anyway) would not make me a suitable "ambassador for the school".
I said screw you (not in so many words) and left.
Now do I get the award for "Gothest Gothly Goth on the Board" or what?

one of the deputy-heads at my school sent me home for wearing black sabbath and ac/dc "highway to hell" patches on my denim jacket, saying that i was "being insulting to god and jesus".
my biker/grebo mum (who bought me the jacket and sewed the patches on) sent me and the jacket back with a letter saying that we were satanists and that "a multi-cultural school, should tolerate the religious practices of minorities".
that was the last we heard of
that.

Ah see, you can't pull that sort of trick at a Jesuit school...
...more's the pity.

time to resurrect this one as it's only a week away:
looks like today's birthday boy,
Smiscandlon is going to make it, still to hear from Bawheid (
Big Si),
Andrew S will be on the mainland and we all know about
boudicca
A venue has still to be settled upon and since I don't get around much anymore, I'm looking for suggestions from you hipsters, flipsters and finger popping daddies.
