Mine needs no explanation. In true Chinese encyclopedic style, I would divide my avatars into five categories:
1) Images of myself and child
2) Images of myself and child, minus myself
3) Images supposed to represent an aspect of personality or current mood
4) Objects of desire
5) Badgers

A variation on a theme...
Originally done on the back of my jacket but with big fat caslon lettering in red over the top of the head logo that I did round about FALAA as a witty reposte to the invitation to "Tune in, turn on, burn out...."
Redone over a lunchbreak in an 'Utterly Bastard Groovy / Overbombing" stylee using Illustrator.
I did contemplate having at least the lettering done as a tat many years ago but it was just a phase

Something pithy.

The only one of mine I can think of that may need an explanation is the steam traction engine. It's called the Suffolk Punch and was unusual in as much as it seemed to be going backwards as the chimney was at the back rather than the front. My step-grandfather used to have one, along with a couple of other engines and we used to go to the odd rally when I was a kid. I went to one again recently and the smell of brasso, burning coal, steam, hot dogs and candy floss fair brought a lump to my throat. I think I might make a habit out of it.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

I always figured that if any of the Heartland members is Von, that it would most likely be Chairman Bux.
It's obvious that Von would read the Heartland forum in some vain attempt to feed his ego.
