I remember some kind of "backward" - mumble on one of the early Danzig records very far at the end.

I found one today just after reading this thread. There's one on Christian Death's "Pornographic Messiah" - it's not bad actually!

There's a fair bit of stuff at the end of the QOTSA Songs for the Deaf album, including The Mosquito Song, The Laugh Track, and a storming live version of Don't Tell Anyone. :notworthy:

mea culpa
how could I forget Train In Vain from London Calling by The Mighty Clash. The album covers were printed before they decided to include it, so it only gets a mention in the runout groove.

Oh yes, I remember. Once I was listening to this CD. It means it was playing while I was doing some other things. When music stopped I was involved in something and I forgot it for a while. Suddenly, being in the toilet, I heard weird noises from my living-room ;D

PS Wasn't there something hidden in the end of one Rosetta Stone album? "The Tyranny Of Inaction"? Of course, my memory isn't the best and I'm not going to remove the Joy Division CD from my player now...

I've started something haven't I? I only picked up on this by playing CDs on my PC and windows media player and thinking ... ...how can that song be 30:32 long.

@ Indrek - It's a lot quicker that doing a Simon and Garfunkel.

My friend had a 4 12" release of somethingorother where you could only play the whole song if you played all 4 simultaniously. Bit of a problem at the time, but kinda easy to do if you record each one into the PC.

Is that one a 'laugh' track or a 'cough' track. :notworthy:

Ace. 8)

@Boudicca - indeed, most APB cds have an extra 'collage' hidden away - though frankly the effort put into them is somewhat less than the Roses managed to muster.

There's a King Kurt b side (Back On The Dole) that has the studio version & the live version on the same side, like the Monty Python album.

RobF, Destination Zululand, I hav'nt heard that in years, I might dig it out, for old tomes sake.

There's one at the end of The Beatles' Seargant(sp?) Pepper... well, not a track as such, but a very high-pitched tone, that can't be picked up by the human ear, but which John Lennon wanted put on to annoy people's dogs.

As if the crescendo at the end of "A Day In The Life" wouldn't send wildlife scurrying for miles around! The first time I heard that I ran to the other ride of the room because I thought the record player was about to explode...

 I was 10.

at the end of a Loop record (I think it was Arc Light 12" - not sure - it was something I owned about 15 years ago so...) the normal spiral went into a locked groove and so kept repeating a riff until you got up and physically took the stylus off the record, which was rather good and very Loop-like.

One side of P.I.L.s Metal box does that too... Can't remember which...
Must dig it out, I need a Lydon caterwauling fix, in advance of the spiffing new P.I.L. and Pistols DVDs

The new cd of one of my other favourite bands, Millionaire: On a high, has one of these long tracks... Excellent song, as ever...

Oh, and I think you might find lots of hidden tracks on http://www.eeggs.com

As does the 12" of Spitting Image's The Chicken Song. Their idea of an extended version was just to repeat the entire song over again and then have the intro looped at the end. Suitably annoying

I remember at the time when this Aphex Twin CD came out I was following an audio recording course.
I told my 'teacher' about the image in the music and he laughed at me.
He said: 'that would be stupid to do, it would result in a lot of random audio gibberish, and no-one 'd like THAT in his own album!'

Then I let him listen to Aphex Twin afterwards. Should've taken a picture of his face ;D

Danzig - Thrall Demonsweatlive (American version) has 99 songs on the cd and the last one has 93 tracks while only nr.1 to 7 are songs, and nr. 93 is a song

Some weird hidden track !
