Great gigs I've
missed...
Sisters, Glasgow Barrowland, September 2nd, 2000
(I got the flu for the first and only time in my life the day before)
And this Sisters tour just passed...
For even more unpleasant reasons.
I'm cursed.

Ah, the man with the worst tattoo in the world
was actually 1989
had to leave NMA halfway through their set. so many people tried to get in the tent that they had to close the outer barriers, the official tape of the gig states 4000 in a 2000 capacity tent.
still remember all the people moshing to the damned before he came on dressed as father christmas
Was it really that long ago? Fcuk - I'm old.
I remember he did a great version of Spanish HArlem and at the end of the set he killed Little Frank by ripping his head off and threw his head into the crowd.
The chants of 'Oh Frankie Frankie' rang out for a fair while after he finished.

at the risk of breaking the "usual" rule as set out at the start of the thread
-
motorhead -1987 rockcity :the first of eleven and still the best.
thin lizzy -1983 leicester (my 1st proper gig)
monsters of rock,1983 (first fezzie)
NMA -brixton academy,'94?
nirvana -reading '91? (not when they headlined -i had a full-on fight all the way through
that one
)
the godfathers -leics uni. for 50p
the cramps 1986 loughborough uni
at this point my memory starts to go hazy...must be those rock'n'roll "hormones"

Fields of the Nephilim - Bham Hummingbird, Sep 1988 (always damn good live)
The Swans - London, 1997 (last ever UK gig)

Iggy And The Stooges - last Tuesday - Hammersmith Apollo
Special show playing Fun House in the correct running order in it's entirety plus many encores.
Seen Iggy solo loads. He ranges from great to s**t.
Seen the orig Stooges twice before since the reunion two years ago, both gigs were superb. This gig blew everything else I've ever seen out of the water.

ok, here is the GREATEST gig ever:
Ministry, headlining With Full Force in 99.
Last day, last band. Al got carried onstage by two run down groupies. He couldn't walk by himself and barely stand on his feet. We feared the worst.
But when they started, oh boy, a massive Panzer was rolling over all of the remaining and left the battlefield devasted. I swear, none of the witnesses will ever forget their mighty blast.
That gig and
White Zombie in Ventura, L.A. in 93. Hell-o-groove.

Small selection from the list of many great gigs I've seen over the years:
Sisters - Reading Festival '91 - still my favourite. they'll never top that.
Nirvana - Reading Festival '91 and '92
Cramps / Failth No More - Reading '90
Bauhaus - Brixton '98
Fields Of The Nephilim - Birmingham Hummingbird 2/6/89 - Psychonaut tour
Miss!on / All About Eve - Manchester Uni 25/11/99
Killing Joke - Shepherd's Bush Empire 24+25/2/05 - 25th aniversary gigs.
Metallica / Megadeth - Milton Keynes Bowl '93
Motorhead - Leeds T and C '98
Pantera / Sepultura / Therapy? / Wildhearts - Donington '94
NIN - Brixton 14/7/05
Cure - Berlin Tempodrom Nov 2002 - the 'trilogy' gigs.
Black Sabbath / Fear Factory - Birmingham NEC, Dec '97.
and few unusual ones:
Napalm Death - York, Fibbers '99 - went along just for "something to do" but it turned out to be a very intense (and loud!) gig.
Sultans Of Ping FC supported by Radiohead (when no bugger had heard of 'em) - Stoke Wheatsheaf '92
Mostly Autumn - in a pub in York circa 1998 - the next Pink Floyd!
