James Ray & The Longfolk

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

You all know perfectly well I don't like Marian. I've mentioned it enough times.

I do! It was the first song on a tape I borrowed 20 years ago. A tape of a band I had not heard of before....The Sisters of Mercy.

They were all treated with the greatest respect - especially the fiddles (!)

textures and soundscapes from acoustic instruments (like an acoustic take on Esquimaux), or something more 'traditional'?

These are 'traditional' (in the broad sense of the word) tracks on which I will be singing. Think Jim White, Cohen ( I am by no means comparing). It's a style i have been dragging through the sewer long enough and since I have been fortunate enough to meet and write with a few like minded gypsys on my travels we have transpired into James Ray & The Longfolk.
