Safari (sometimes) does the same with links to individual posts from within itself, not just links from e-mail.
The hash-links (Yes I know they're called anchors) (like http://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic. ... 919#186919 for James' post above) sometimes don't go to quite the right place on the page. Not just on here; on any page with anchors in it.
