My good friend across the Pond reminded me that we also don't understand sarcasm. Or that bone-dry British wit.
Nonetheless, got my pre-sale ticket (and damn, impressed the jaded NY crowd gobbled 'em up) and hope to see you fellow Heartlanders. Cripes, I'll be happy to meet anyone else who loves The Sisters.
I suggest we get down on that floor early...so we can stand with the jaded NY crowd...
There's a dive right around the corner from Webster Hall, I don't recall the name....suitably seedy enough.

Seedy is good. We like seedy.
Just tell us where and we'll be there.
* Goes off to get even more giddy with excitement and promises not to cause anymore offence to our Amerikan hosts.

I think you've just booked your 'male bonding' moment to be captured on camera.

Bollox, twas about to book me ticket and flight, now I'll have to wait for the normal ticket sale
just to be on the safe side. There's some kind of seated balcony at this venue apparently, I can't stand the bloody seats!
What's NY like for touts if I can't secure a standing ticket? Any Ideas?

Hope they'll not sell the other tickets out too soon as this appears to be the only one I could perhaps make

Why don't you both try Philly - twice as many tickets only 3 hours away 2 days later
Or both..

Oh, there most certainly will be some upstanding citizens asking if one has tickets for the show.
Bring ca$h. Early. Make sure it's a GA ticket, too.
Personally, I would stay away from the balcony unless totally necessary or you want to get in early and stay put right on the rail. They might possibly put the mixing desk up there, not sure.
Oddly enough, last time I went that route was to see Interpol in 2003, and the opener was...The Warlocks! In San Fran. I stood right in the pit, in a...haze. Very nice.
If you wanna see The Warlocks and get in early, you'll get jacked for a few more bucks...all depends on if it's worth it.

It's just NY is the cheapest place to fly to
Or is accomodation (Hotels and stuff) in places like Philly significantly cheaper

Well, NY is the most expensive city in the world for accomodation, so I would think so, yes!
If you, like me, come from Europe, those extra 200 km to Philly can't be that important, can they?

Hahaha! I should get a life for starters..
Though, checking sites with this is real fun: javascriptdocument.lastModified
I'm thinking of selling my stereo, or something, to make some money so I can go. But I guess that wont happen..
Come on, bring us some eurodates now, bitte please.

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH
ticketweb don't do bastard international sales! Anyone in NY fancy me sending them some paypal cash?
I need to book flights and rooms in the next couple of days, and I'm slightly dubious without a definite ticket. If I book a few days in NY and they cancel I don't really mind as I get a cool holiday anyway, but getting all the way to The States and then not getting into the gig would be bloody awful...

I wish I'd known that before I tried ordering. I've just spent 15 mins on the phone to the bank trying to sort out the mess that has resulted.

Ditto here. I would hate to turn up only to find there were no tickets left, so any help in sourcing tickets would be most welcome.

A UK based HLer has just bought my NYC ticket on the Ticketweb site using their credit card. It's all gone through OK and they've just emailed me the confirmation which I'm looking at now complete with link to the actual ticket order ...

Well I tried using 2 cards. Each time, I was told that my order had failed, as the address I gave didn't exactly match what's on my statements, which was not true. Then I found out from the bank that payment has still been deducted - 4 times! I'm not a happy bunny and it'll probably take some sorting out.
So is there anyone who has successfullly ordered tickets and would be prepared to order 2 more for me? If so, I would be most grateful.

Well, I've taken a chance.
I shall be in NYC from the 4th till the 8th, with a mate (who isn't interested in The Sissies!). If anyone can get me a general admission ticket I'll love them forever (and give them the money, obviously). If not, I'll be the drunk swapping my passport for a ticket from a tout outside the venue...

Well after the card debacle, I've had this advice back from Ticketweb:
"At this time the best thing to do is to purchase your tickets either over the phone or at the venue itself. Our contact phone number is 1-866-468-7619."

Not much good calling a toll-free number if you are calling from overseas, though.
