just checked my torrent client after being out for a while and the sisters download from C3 has d/led and seeded up an 83% ratio while running at the same time as the motorhead dvd torrent.
torrents and especially .flac torrents are the way forward. 8)

I was wondering if someone with megatons of bandwith could download this one for me. It goes like this:
Dime-a-Dozen wrote:Arte Rock & Rex 2005
Le Grand Rex, Paris, France
November 2005
Appearing artists (in alphabetcial order):
Archive
dEUS
Grand National
The Kills
Madness
Maxmo Park
Patti Smith
Trade for something else, someone? :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I could download it myself, but it would seriously f**k up my rank as I can never make uploading even half of it month without being charged extra as it's two or even almost three GB :(

i'd offer Zeno but i'm still downloading over 4gigs of motorhead with a couple of torrents waiting.
why don't you just open a new account with dimeadozen from a different email address? then you can leech it without killing your ratio. i've not sunk that low personally but i can see it could happen.

I understand, no problem and thanks anyway

Don't they do some sort of IP-check as well :?:

And my rating is 0.4, so I cannot sink much deeper already

my share ratio is 0.58, I don't know what I'm doing wrong

is your torrent client set to seed each torrent until 100%? mine had a default setting of 80% to start with which of course means you aren't going to ever balance your ratio.

Currently being sent [via msn] London After Midnight - Kiss. Ok, so maybe it's fookin' g0ff, but I liked it when I was 13 so that shouldn't have changed now...;D

If you've still got the original files you can help seed it,this will help your share ratio.

i've got them burned onto cd from the vined disc that mark made so although i have got them as .flac i don't have them on my hard-drive, which is still suffering from having 4gigs of motorhead on it so that i can seed it. cheers anyway pat- i have been considering uploading some stuff anyway for the "it's nice to share"-ness of it.

Can someone tell me how to make a torrent and seed it?
Or point me towards a web site that will show me?
I have the FLAC files ready to go - I just don't know what the next step is..... :(

I presume via here, after and after that go to your program of choice and search for something like 'upload' in it :?:

From memory which might not be perfect at the moment.
Follow the link in Obviousman's post .Copy the announce url.
Put your flac files in a folder with a text file with the description.Your torrent client should have a make torrent function.Point this at the folder (not the files) it should ask you for the announce url round about now. This should now create a torrent file next to your folder.Go back to Obviousman's link, follow the instructions ,wait a few minutes and Robert should be your fathers brother.(bookmark your torrent page).

tried Z's link last night, got this
CAUTION: This page is only for adding a torrent onto the tracker. To seed a torrent that is already on DIME, do not use this form.
Instead, go to DIME's details page for the torrent and get your personalized .torrent file for it.
so I went to the details page and it was of no use at all. I think all you guys know I like to share what I have, so its not for the want of trying. :|

does anyone else get this problem?
the share ratio on my client (not on the torrent site) will occasionally drop dramatically e.g. the motorhead dvd i'm seeding was on 30% a couple of hours ago; since having to restart my pc (due to aol being incompetent broadband providers it has fallen to 25%- quite a difference when you consider the file(s) contain 4gb.
fortunately this hasn't affected the amount u/l'ed onto DAD but is still annoying as this also happened with a siouxsie torrent and means i have to waste good HL/pacman time on manually managing torrents.
